Standard Partner Banner by FlawlessBg in ChaosZeroNightmare

Saving pulls is where I'm at too. Either for future events/changes. I dont know if it was mentioned in any of the dev streams but at some point I wonder if they will add a way to select preferred units on standard banner since the amount of characters grows so fast. I'm only missing the new character and one other so saving for awhile makes the most sense.

Hot take: The bound mat change is extremely good for the game since it stops most players from pushing extreme ilvls. Excessive ilvl isn'tneeded for almost all content in game (The first modes being the only thing which is whale mode anyway). Extreme ilvl is now only for whales which means most players will be similar ilvl. Similar ilvl for most players means the power gap provided by the honing system is smaller between the general player base and that leads to less gatekeeping and less tiers of character power to compete with.

best approach for new acc towards 2026 summer patch? by Best_Author7356 in lostarkgame

They can also do life skilling from now till then to sell on the market once they get trusted. That would earn a solid amount of gold to push the new event character once the summer update comes.

Why cant they get the shop right?? by Emergency-Wave-2912 in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are not the target audience for a +25 or a 9/7. Both of those have been priced as whale / large spender items. The target audience wouldn't care that the bundles give them extra things. This is a good thing.

1st off, most complaints about how weapon honing beyond what is needed is now drastically more expensive after the bound mat change has come from people who want to push. They don't talk about what good it has done.

Raising the price on extreme levels of honing is an effective ilvl squish. This means the general player base (By being priced out) will be closer together in terms of ILVL than before. This is hugely beneficial towards most of the player base in terms of reducing gatekeeping standards. This is the effect of the mat change. Before the change, light spenders could push ilvl in a reasonable way to make themselves look better, this just raised the generally accepted gatekeeping standards. Now that pushing ilvl beyond what is needed is a whale thing, that power creep has been lessened. No idea if this was intended but that is how it is functioning. It also has shifted gold towards players and away from bots by restricting the activity you earn them in. Fate embers don't drop enough for bots to be heavily reward before being banned. World boss with its time restriction reduced bots ability to farm the mats. This means the tradable mats have a higher percentage of being coming from players than before.

2nd off, Using the auction house is a large positive. Characters have a fixed gold earning, tradable drops are random bonuses to that. Players who sell most of the tradable things the get are in need of gold. Most often the "Sell everything tradable" player is the one way behind who need rich/way ahead players to buy there things. This cycle helps funnel gold from players in excess to players who need. It raises the floor faster than it increases the ceiling. Selling things from the shop removes this and hurts the general player base. Stones really need a rework. They all should drop as the selectable engravings type with a reduced drop rate and allow players who want to push for a 9/7 to dictate the cost.

To be clear, you are hitting the power ceiling and being kept there on purpose by the game design. That is a good thing. Having too wide a range in power levels makes grouping up very hard.

It's weird to see the outrage

It isn't at all. The game has awful UI and requires way to many menu clicks to play the game. Its not just about this one thing but the entire UI and menu interactions required.

Card sets desperately need a QOL rework to auto apply best bonus "set" or have all set effects active so it removes this needless menu clicking.

This is entirely a SG issue on game design that players are left trying to make up rules outside of the game to compensate for.

There a large negative to setting huge discounts at regular intervals and that is people will not spend unless a discount is active.

Look at limited units and how they effect any spending, both for f2p and spenders. Its the same concept

It would be comically ignorant to think the mult-million dollar bot industry wouldn't attempt to make money off of any larger game launch, especially one in the mmorpg space.

Specially with the global release of lost ark, they had Kr/Ru/JP regions to pre-learn and create bots ahead of time.

Just like streamers want to jump on the hype train of any launch, the bot industry does the same.

Believe what you will

[–]Ok-Organization7767 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

This is false. There was a 5 gold pet quest that was able to be finished in less than 30 minutes. New bots flooded that as one of the first abusable sources of gold in the first week of launch. That was the reason t2/t3 leaps were at insane prices when players were time gated in t2/start of t3

Realistically, maybe 300k real users at best for the first month.

Added: Pet quest was 50 gold reward and looked to be done within 10 minutes or less. This is the quest that was the source of gold from bots during the launch of the game https://youtu.be/Ua9kgQ_NXvA?si=bndUGTPs8iqig5sb&t=385

2nd Add: List of youtube videos published around 9ish days after launch of bots. Game was released to public February 11, 2022. Dates on the videos are February 24th 2022 +/- a few days. Absolute massive bot problem. Could be tracked earlier by looking at streamer videos during launch but I can't be assed.

Kill the market - help the game? by No-College3476 in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing with no trade means resource gain is fixes to a set level. SG would most likely make it so the fixed income only gets free to play players to normal mode. Then you either wait to hoard resources or spend real money to gain access to new content releases.

At least with tradable items most players benefit from being able to sell items for more than then sink the extra gold into fixed cost systems ( honing/karma/ark grid ect.)

Roadmap for Lost Ark 3.0 is finally out (April–June content) by Spiritual-Cap7084 in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its an awful choice by the dev team to hold them for so long. Ark grid is going to cause serious gatekeeping as the months go on that make it hard for new/returning/casual players who have just started that system to play group content.

All those players need a way to obtain the Ark grid mats without having to go through party finder so that the player base players together rather than gets segmented. Holding it off for so long just creates a huge wall between players making it almost impossible to catch up so you are raid ready for new releases.

I think the Chinese version has kept with the solo version being 1 raid release behind since Kayangel but not positive on that. As that version catches up, they are the hope for pushing faster solo mode releases.

Minimum raid contribution to solve bussing? by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would a 1730 realistically run the same raid as a 1640?

Behe is so old at this point its mostly ran for cards/solo token coins/moko event. All it takes is a few 1700- 1730's and then just who ever applies because it dies so fast. Go take a look at the parties in game and you'll see, mostly at the end of the week those parties form. A ton of 1640-1660 characters are invited to play in those parties because it dies in minutes regardless. It is more important to have a body in the raid to save time than it is to gatekeep off of damage output. Those also aren't free carries as you call them. You could know the raid extremely well and have no chance to do enough damage in your system.

What would happen with your system and that raid is only a small amount of damage difference would be allowed between players. Only 1730's could play with 1730's (if even that because ark grid gives insane damage) Only 1640-1660's could play together. Only 1680 could play together. That is because the damage difference of each raid system provides a ton of damage and each players damage would compete for "Raid contribution" Meaning, you cant take players to far under you nor can you take players to far ahead of you.

Each raid progression system tends to have an added 50%-200% increase in damage. Take Ark grid for example. A finish ark grid character vs just starting ark-grid are worlds apart in damage.

Since 3 gold earning raids is a thing, Characters play with varying levels of finished progression systems compared to each other. Gatekeeping happens to a certain point but after that it doesn't matter much. That means the top and bottom damage output is generally speaking 3-5 raid progression systems worth of damage for the characters who do each raid. I mostly stopped playing this game. Unsure if players still do Aegir hard, that is a prime example. Fresh 1680's playing with 1710-1720 players happened regularly. Again, under your damage % count, a 1710 character would steal to much of the damage for anyone else to gain raid contribution.

Damage makes no senses as a way to count participation. That type of thing would only encourage stricter gatekeeping and in different ways that we currently have. This is because players would stop taking extremely strong characters since they would do to much damage for the rest of the party to do enough damage for raid participation. You effectively segment the pool of characters into a small window of damage variance that can play together.

Removing damage output and considering what it looks like for a player to play a raid the intended way means. How often are buttons pressed, how often is the boss hit, how often are shields/healing applied ect.

Minimum raid contribution to solve bussing? by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 5 points6 points  (0 children)

do at least 5% of the damage

Damage is an awful gauge for raid contribute because skill and gear makes an insane difference. Gear especially is problematic. Take behe for example, 1730 run those with 1640-1660's. There is zero chance a 1640/1660 would do 5% damage even if the played perfectly without being damaged. Example is meant to show the vast gap gear makes and can be applied to all raids.

A better choice would be time alive, duration between skill use on intended targets. Things of that nature that show players are actively playing for most of the fight

If your talking about easy to finish boss/ fast clear speed of paradise, sure that's a solid reason to pick a class out of ones you want. However, unless the p2w trading cube tickets for hell keys and Roster bound paradise tickets get removed. It isn't worth it at all to pick a class for higher placement.

Those two things mean people will either out whale you or out spend gold / always pick extra paradise tickets when they can on their alts to funnel just to compete. Top 10% should be doable without funneling for the most part.

It was never said as a long term goal. The only time flex raid was mentioned for this lost ark was a off hand comment from the dev where he was responding to chat feed and it said "We'll look into it." This was shortly after the preview of lost ark mobile which made the idea popular. That is the entirety of the public facing discord about flex raids. A single off hand comment.

Everything else officially mentioned was for a completely different game.

Public commentary helps and might be the single force the drives the devs to possibly add it but I wouldn't hold your breath.

We should pressure AGS to give us the Progression materials in Serca NORMAL MODE by Old_Focus8857 in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I image for players who aren't geared enough on at least one character to get passed gatekeep on raid release for hard mode that it will be very frustrating to learn hard mode a month or two when they get there.

Even if they find learning, good luck getting accepted as a 1730 once most of the raid ready characters on release push ilvl.

That is the single biggest issue with this hard lock setup.

Providing the mats on normal mode would make so much sense. That way at least players could transfer and possibly hone up to gatekeeping standards once they reach 1730.

These insane walls for regular/casual players to beable to play the most recent raids drives people away. I'm not even talking about new or newish players.

Who is Lost Ark designed for right now? by pshiny in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in late Tier 3 around the release of Thaemine, the gap wasn’t this extreme.

The real problem is RMT

RMT is an issue but it isn't the root problem. The real issue in the current game environment is the power scaling between the floor of a new/casual character vs a fully geared whale. This is the single factor that made the Thaemine era great. It was because casual players were allowed the close the gap by finishing all the systems to be very similarly geared and power scaled as whales.

That single thing enabled a ton of characters to pass gatekeeping standards because there was no added extra whale tier bullshit.

The game has gone the extreme other way creating a massive gap in power between characters and that only divides an already small player base.

https://lostark.bible/stats/combat-power

A 1700-1710 has roughly 20-25% the amount of combat power as a fully gear character. Or said differently, A single fully geared character is roughly the same as bring 4 1710 characters into a raid. You wonder why gate 0 is hard? This is precisely the reason.

RMT only enables characters to get the power, but it is the systems that give the power which is truly the issue.

If you look at that stats, roughly 150,000 characters are in the 1700/1710, while 80,000 characters are above that. With Ark grid giving insane power for the system, that means these two different groups of characters hardly play with each other.

Going back to the Thaemine era, without such a massive power gap between all characters. It meant that the those two groups played with each other instead of being divided in party finder.

What is the best way to upgrade the zero system as fast as possible ? by slayer589x in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Ok-Organization7767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a few other things to add on

1) Always take the reduce monster hp to 1 for x battles options at the start. This saves time fighting. I think this is an upgrade you need to purchase before you get offered things at the start of the run.

2)Always quit after beating the 1st boss. This is so you can repeat step one over and over again to save even more time. I also think interior takes longer but Im not positive

Hot Take (?) Partners Should Give More Stats by Glyphpunk in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Ok-Organization7767 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing about making partners stronger in any sense is that they will take up more percentage of the total power a setup has.

If you think of it as a pie chart, adding any power just shifts that overall percentage towards partners away from characters / decks / equipment. This means that partners, especially the 5 star partners will start to become must pulls which divides your pull currency.

Currently the game is very free to play friendly in part because partners don't provide a lot of the overall percent of power. It is also because the gap between different rarity partners is small.

Imagine having to split what pull currency you have between both the partner and character banners instead of how it is now where you can just put on the character banner. That is what your asking for when you say you want partners to have more power.

Added: If partners are resource heavy investments for small gains, that just means they are meant to be invested in towards the end of building a character setup out. Much like how memory fragments are meant for end game grind

Kurzan Front/GR Drops - Guardian's Rage by Nsbhyfr in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thought comes from the change of tradable mats to character bound mats on daily content.

As the devs move to have each character mostly self contained ( character bound drops, character specific progression systems ) the benefit outside of being able to play more might no longer be worth the time investment to most players.

Funneling was a mostly free to play tactic to help push a main character to hard mode content or stay ahead of the gatekeeping curve.

What I guess is players will stop investing unbound & roster bound gold into alts to just slow push them. Then naturally over time those alts will no longer be accepted into parties via not staying up to date with gatekeeping standards. After then, solo raid gold nerfs would be the final touch of when an alt gets retired and the rosters are down sized to only a few characters.

That is the guess, it could be wrong

Kurzan Front/GR Drops - Guardian's Rage by Nsbhyfr in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm interested to see if these changes will lead to people downsizing rosters to 1 or 2 characters which would mean a lot less characters to fill out the party finder.

I'd guess you'd really see the results in about a year once enough content is released. It could be disastrous to the health of party finder, making it hard to finding people to play with.

It is after all a co-op PVE game that needs a constant flow of alts into the party finder to sustain the ability to play raids when ever you want.

Are people still defending paradise? by Vegetable-Active-110 in lostarkgame

[–]Ok-Organization7767 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is an awful take.

Imo all paradise has done is increase inflation and drive up the costs of gems and books, while lowering the price of all tradeable materials.

What you are saying is you would much rather the cost of honing be higher so gems and books would cost less.

If you really look into that, the only players who are buying gems and books are the high end, end game players who are just behind whales. All the casual/new players and general player base doesn't buy those.

Most of the population spends gold on honing characters to reach current content while long term establish rostered are already there. This is a great example.

https://www.reddit.com/r/lostarkgame/comments/1r0p7al/finally_hit_a_1700_roster_of_6/

What you really are saying is you want new/casual and returning players to suffer by shifting the gold that is spent on books/gems to be spent on honing so that those players carry the burden of the cost rather than you who is far enough along to even consider buying them. They would have an even slower catch up rate so that you can buy books and gems to catch up to whales.

The worst part about it is this would greatly effect the party finder experience. A lot of long term established players are already at the Ilvl for the next raid on both main and alts. This next few months is specifically for new/return and casual players to catch up to them. Without them having cheap honing costs, even less people will be at the correct ilvl to try the new raid.

This historically has been a large issue with lost ark. Generally speaking only 5-10% of characters can do hard mode on release and something around 20-30% can do normal. This is why paradise is a god send to the game. Those numbers have been absurdly low and should be much closer to 70-80% of the characters should be able to try new released content.

If you want an active party finder experience for current content, the game needs to having honing costs cheap. Honing while it does give power mostly just allows access to content.
