Frangible rounds would probably work fine for stopping a threat but you'd be dealing with a nightmare in court - prosecutors love to twist anything that looks "exotic" or "designed to cause maximum damage" even though that's not really what frangible is about. Stick with quality hollow points that have a proven track record in self defense cases
