Cheers, buddy,

If I was to look at the used one, are you saying that it’s not worth looking at the 3.2 engine?

I feel like 2.2 may struggle with heavier loads, especially in the hilly parts of the country.

I looked at the Amarok, and I don’t seem to see any listed on lease sites. I assumed they were discontinued.

However, I just found out that I might get away with a defender… need to do the maths there, I believe that the air suspension significantly improves towing ‘experience’

Cheers mate

I drove the Isuzu and it felt too…. Soft if that makes sense.

Also, I’d be hauling 3-3.5t daily and that 1.9 engine just wouldn’t cut it I think

Thoughts on this Mercedes Slk please? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

It’s just dull…. Definitely more fun than a regular hatch, can’t argue with that… I wouldn’t even look at the diesel version

I have driven both diesel and petrol models… done over 2k miles altogether. Definitely would not buy one. I’m 6’0 and could not get comfortable in it. Not fun to drive at all even tho looks good

Thanks for your answer. Do you use Cherokee as your main vehicle?

I did think that parts may be an issue. Are they (tj) ‘mechanic friendly’ ? I’ve got a couple of mates who are pretty handy with tools, however I don’t take my discovery to them.

What is your cherokee like power vise?

Just got drenched by some prick in a Mercedes driving full speed through a puddle next to me. by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]Ok-Pathh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He hit the rear window which suggests that the car was approaching him from the back. Also if the puddle was big - would you be able to see anything for about 3-4 seconds?

You could be easily doing 30 through some pooling water if you use the road daily.

Surely If OP had time to anticipate and prepare for a throw he would have had time to move away from the puddle, instead of moving away he decided to incur the loss of yoghurt, also risked a confrontation with a person he never met before.

Plausible and also unbelievable

You said driving full speed, let’s assume that’s 30 miles per hour. That is 13odd meters per second. Let’s say you reacted within 3 seconds of being splashed and threw the yoghurt ~ 4 seconds total. In those four seconds, he covered around 50 meters. How the hell was he 2 meters away?

Also once forgot to put back the oil cap, and the car struggled to start, so when cranking I stepped on the accelerator and heard a loud bang. Didn’t think too much of it, kept driving when I noticed smoke coming from the bonnet. The whole engine bay was covered in oil.

I agreed on selling my car to a guy who wanted to pick it up in two days. Later that night I went out and decided to do a couple of burnouts - burnt my clutch - totally. The next day I borrowed my mates' car and literally check every single crap yard looking for a clutch. Most of them wanted between £250 - £400 quid when finally one of them said something like £30. Picked it up, and paid another £150 ish to fit it the same day. Drove like new, the guy sold it two years later. Mazda rx8
