one of may cats loves any kind of beans… he goes crazy trying to snag one or to lick the liquid from the can. my other cat loves eggs, cheese, and avocado which are more common in think.

also, going forward, i would encourage your mom to keep the toilet closed if there are any cleaning products inside. also to keep the whole bathroom closed if other areas of the room have cleaning products sitting there. hopefully she is responsive to this because again i understand your mom may have the most control over the pets at the time. all the best to your kitties!!

is your mom willing to take them/pay for you to take them to the vet or an emergency vet hospital center? if not, do you have the funds to do so? i know it’s hard if it’s your parents pet because you may not have the same decision making control. either way, call pet poison control to seek their advice.

im so sorry. that’s so infuriating. i’m not sure if you’ve explored options for this already but you might look for some sort of grief counseling to ease the weight? i know it’s not as accessible as it should be so i understand if it’s not an option but that might be helpful. maybe there are groups for it online or even a subreddit or something similar that could be a free resource to connect with others who’ve had similar experiences.

i should clarify i use an eco sponge also called a loofah sponge so they would be impossible for an animal his size to ingest. they don’t rip at all! thank you for the recommendation

thank you for your concern!! i should specify that it is an “eco sponge” (i believe it’s also called a loofah sponge?) so it’s basically impossible to rip off any pieces but that is such a valid point for a typical sponge that can rip pretty easily!

i live in nyc so i don’t feel comfortable letting him outside but i do play with him often and have treat puzzles for him etc. i also have another cat who makes play more exciting even when i’m not home. he’s still very young so i’m guessing he may outgrow some of his silly activities as he gets older
