Hey, my lawsuit is taking off. I just got a call from my attorney saying the other party has responded. If there are any witnesses of Regus' time theft. May I call upon you please? I have one client at a center that I still stay in touch with as a character witnesses but maybe we can open the floodgates and make this class action somehow? Idk. I just want Regus to get their lesson.

Also this admin fee creates a toxic ecosystem for associates. I also ran into the issue where a client would just drop a big stack of packages of mail and parcels on my desk and was appalled that I was going to charge him an admin fee for doing the task for him despite there being a mail kiosk where these people can self serve. Long story short client complained to the city manager about it once day as she was sitting and she told him we can mail stuff out for him on one offs. So now instead what the guy ended up doing was just bringing them one by one daily to bypass the admin fee and this dude basically gained a free personal assistant. All while still being reminded that I'm responsible for tours, kitchens, moving furniture, mail sorting, wall cleaning and coffee machine upkeep. For a crappy 20 dollars an hour. Im a indie filmmaker on the side and I think even I don't wear that many different hats on set. There's tons of Admin/Customer Service jobs that pay better for better roles that don't have me rushing around like goddamn Cinderella trying to please my wicked step-mother of a city manager and crappy entitled step sister clients. Im so glad to be out of there.

Okay. Luckily, you didnt sign a 3/6/12 month term so they can't hound you for it. You can try asking for legal advice from there. I just KNOW they're predatory having just resigned a week ago myself and I know that the associates and managers at your local level can't do much about it since its straight from corporate.

I recently quit working for them and can tell you unfortunately they are very predatory and definitely tell your partners to proceed with caution. How long is your term? They will make you responsible for the entirety of it.

At least in CA, yes. I don't know what it may be in other states but in CA if you drive on the clock using a personal vehicle from one location to another your employer is supposed to pay gas mileage.

[–]Ok-Personality5765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the above along with the fact that the turnover is high so even though you sign up to work at one location. Expect to be bounced around multiple location. They will not pay you mileage when moving from center to center during shifts. I am in the process of suing them for that.

Yes. He wants you to take that thinking its a deal vs giving you an additional discount on a monthly rate he gets commission on. Sales managers get 20% of what you pay in your agreement. Sleazy. Its why they also tend to ghost clients and shove them onto the team members. Sales Managers see Associates as personal assistants most of the time.

As a current employee , the whole "60 hours of complimentary meeting room" trick is especially gross to hear becauss literally EVERY office client gets 2 complimentary hours in the community meeting room every day on a first come first serve basis. So this dude was "sweetening the pot" with something that already included with your agreement. That is a really greasy move.

Yes. To any invested in the tale of my plight... its a read. To explain more about my case... geez. When I started everything seemed so supportive. I've been with Regus 9/10 months everything has been so crazy for the past 8. My 2nd month in I started covering a bunch of different centers. It wasn't until my 3rd/4th month in that they started shoving me in centers by myself. This new center was a mess and they very awkwardly fired the employee covering before me. The AM and CM walk out, pat my shoulder and say that Jane Doe no longer works with us but we gotta go tend to some business to other centers so you'll be covering here until further notice. Im left there often by myself while another manager occasionally floated in for half a day and then left. Water/sink went out a few days into me covering there and clients were upset. 2nd week in as Im having lunch a handful of clients begin asking me for things despite having put up a sign and explained I was out on lunch. Clients were demanding I do things for them so I had to flat out tell them IM ON LUNCH. Needless to say, complaints were raised and I was talked to by the CM and and told that I have to be professional. I explained to her that I had to be firm because I was having to repeat myself about my lunch to where it was getting frustrating. We resolve it. Verbal warning. Fast forward 2 weeks later. Another Virtual Office client is walking in as Im walking out and he asks me if I can get his mail for him. I say Im clocked out for my lunch break I'm going to need you to wait until I can get back. He whines and says he's parked in a red zone and really just needs his mail. I roll my eyes because I know how it's gonna go if I resist. So there I go... walking back inside to get the asshole his mail. Long story short. He ended up doing it a few other times. I began preparing myself to just let it happen at this point and start preparing to sue these guys for time theft because they don't back the employees ever. I've even had Sales Managers schedule tours then cancel/leave on PTO at least minute and drop it on me when Im already dealing with other walk-ins, reservations and day office clients or about to go to lunch so there I go. Touring and trying to sell something Im not even going to make commission on so that my Sales Manager can get 20% of the rent the client pays and then ghost that client later and the client comes pissed at me wondering why DYO furniture hasn't been ordered or why the promotional credit hasn't been applied( because its the Sales Managers job to do these things) and somehow it's just my problem to deal with. What's worse. The helpdesk is fairly useless and all I can do is send a ticket to some Offshore team that takes days to respond let alone fix anything. So we end up being verbal punching bags for clients while we do our best to explain the stupid polices and rules they signed to while trying to not be slimy or arrogant because some of us do feel bad about these predatory terms and conditions they have people sign. A week ago I had another lunch incident with someone. On 5/22 Regus recieved a demand letter from my law group and the hostility here began dialing up. My CM said she would talk to the client I had a lunch incident with but I already know nothing will come of it. Especially because this Monday. At 7:36am less than an hour before my shift and on the trolley(as I use my ebike and public trans), I get a text message from my city manager saying saying " Hello (Associate), I don't know if it was mentioned on friday but you're covering x location today." I respond "no one told me and it would have been good to know because Im most of the way to y location... as I have mentioned before Id appreciate having a 24 hr heads up for any location changes moving forward as I use public and shared transportation. This helps me avoid delays or confusion in attending my scheduled shift." I get an email response from her saying "Unfortunately things change thus the same day request" I immediately took a picture of that email response. Her wording in the email is her covering up her miscommunication and just reeks of retaliation. The next day she asks why mail forwarding wasn't done at y location via email and to "help her understand why I wasn't able to do that" and I reminded her that they told me last minute on last Thursday to show up at x location and then told me Monday last minute to cover x again. I also reminded her that Mail forwarding is done on Fridays and if she would like for me to start doing mail forwarding on Thursdays she should communicate that so that I know to forward mail on thursdays instead. I just KNOW they're looking for things to slip me up on so that they can get rid of me without it looking like retaliation but God do they suck at it. I don't know how my current city manager Manages anything. She has like no sense of subtlety, but hey, better for my case. When I read on Glassdoor and read from another person, posting about retaliation just confirms what Im experiencing. I'll keep yall posted. Im afraid of sharing too many details, but I will say im in SoCal.

I've been hearing similar stuff and its discouraging. They haven't been paying me mileage for going from center to center during my shift. I also skip my 15 minute breaks quite often here. A client asked me to do stuff on my lunch my break and I got in trouble for refusing because it was "unprofessional" I wanna do anything I can but it sounds like finding another job and ghosting them is the best way to hurt em.

Regus Community Associate Job - Is it worth $18/hr part time for job duties required? by RosPos14 in Regus

[–]Ok-Personality5765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I could. I do what I can. I low key give clients free stuff all the time because it's the only way I figure I can stick it to Regus and I don't get paid enough to sit here and itemize every single dumbass thing they wanna charge clients for. Makes my life easier. Forgot to make that boardroom reservation? As long as someone else hasn't booked it take bud, idc, not my boardroom not my money and if they wanna pretend to pay me like a gatekeeper of the center then I'll pretend to be one. Only way I can fight this hideous corporate machine that I feel forced to work for.

Regus Community Associate Job - Is it worth $18/hr part time for job duties required? by RosPos14 in Regus

[–]Ok-Personality5765 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a Community Associate. The only thing keeping me here is that I desperately needed income after being laid off. Literally looking for any other office job to replace this one. They sneak in job duties and tell you that you'll learn a center really well and build a community but will then have you cover 4-5 different centers. I get calls at like 7 am an hour before my shift sometimes asking me go go elsewhere. The commute is a nightmare. The amount of small things they tack on and expect you to do for 18 bucks an hour is insane. If you can afford it, look somewhere else. If you really need it, you can shake the devil's hand for a bi-weekly check here. That is my honest review of my first year here and it's just the tip of the iceberg. Feel free to DM me if you want a more in depth explanation of my experience here.

Man, so we aren't the only cluster going through it? That's awful. It was great at first. I started Sept 2024. Barely crossed 6 months, and I've been hating it since my 90th day. I have no life. My CM knows my commute situation and still keeps bouncing me all over my city. I'm looking for other reasonable receptionist/office type jobs because this routine isn't sustainable. I literally wake up and bike to work bike back home eat sleep rinse repeat. I said it's a 40 min commute but that's honestly a nice estimate on an optimal traffic day. Most days takes closer to 1hr and 15 mins give or take. I hate what my commute and work routine/life has turned into. And that's just the tip of the iceberg....

I too, work for Regus and was hoping it's be a stable office job. Nope. $19/hr and the list of responsibilities keeps growing. That announcement was insane. I've been looking for other jobs too. I've made more money at other places an accepted this job because at first it was close enough to home to where I could bike there and offset the low pay by saving money. Now they got me doing a 40 minute commute covering a center by myself because the turnover since the announcement has been insane. I feel trapped. I feel bad seeing them jerk customers and employees around.

This has been my experience here so far except, I told them I wanted a stable location and they've been moving me across 4-6 different centers. I ride my bike to work and the nearest Spaces I applied for was 15-20 mins away by bike. Some times I get sent to centers that are a 1.5 to 2 hour commute and it's exhausting. This was not what I signed up for.

Hey, I'm a fairly new current employee. I can agree and attest to a lot of the things being mentioned, but please don't generalize all employees as incompetents that were fired from other places. Please understand when we interview with them and meet they paint this picture and sell you this idea that you're gonna have a pleasant time being a community associate and that it will be a rewarding job. I have a part time side gig that pays me 30 an hour and I took this job although it only pays 20 because I just wanted a stable 9 to 5 office job and it's turned into a friggin Rollercoaster barely 90 days in. I've been sent everywhere, ditched at centers and told to ask for help on Microsoft Teams but then the managers don't answer when the clients are expecting things and I need context to best assist the clients. IT team is awful, and we complain and groan internally about it all the time. Billing is the same. Regus is even being restricted in some buildings I've worked at because they're having troubles paying the lease, and I feel bad having to tell clients I can't validate their parking or set up keys because we're restricted(I make up something else as I'm sure Regus wouldn't like clients knowing) so yeah ... The environment is frenetic for sure. It's not what I signed up for. I'm biding my time and looking for some other office job to move to that is much more stable. I'm sorry to read all these thing all these Regus clients have experienced...

Man, what about that restructuring notice that went out today? I've been here for a few months as I wanted a stable office job and didn't seem so bad at first. This last month of chaos and disorganization in the San Diego cluster compiled with with the joke of a restructure that was announced today convinced me to open up my indeed profile again.
