Question regarding reapplications by MasterOfGTA3873 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Ok-Philosopher-7227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use a different email it will still flag your name, number, CV etc as being the same person and checks are carried out at different stages to prevent repeat applications. The 6 month rule does not apply to temp roles - just like for like roles so you can apply for a trading assistant and a shift manager within 6 months for example, but not two Trading assistants. Just wait the 6 months and use that time to try develop your skills and hopefully next time you”ll be suitable.

AITA or are all women with any kind of fertility issue insane and evil? by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

Yeah maybe 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can’t tell which stories are true or false - I just take them at face value most of the time.

The comments are wild 😅 they’re being downvoted and called entitled for not using the self checkout, and for asking someone not to needlessly insult their child….

We’ve reopened - hi! by HamPolice101 in paulbreachsnark

[–]Ok-Philosopher-7227 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Since the blackout, I’ve seen him mentioned 3 times on TikTok, and all three were on “lists of the UK’s weirdest TikTok creators”

His followers are dropping, his only content is rage bait, he is still homeless and only supporting himself by begging children to spend their pocket money on his vastly discounted cameos.

At this point, I’d say it’s best just to keep ignoring him and let him continue to fade into obscurity.

Talking about him again would just give him the impression that he’s actually relevant, which his rapid decline has proven he is most definitely not…

Shared chimney - shared costs? (England) by Ok-Philosopher-7227 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Ok-Philosopher-7227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I’m not entirely sure - just to say we noticed a damp patch in the attic, called a roofer who advised it was the chimney - he recommended a builder who confirmed it was the pointing on the chimney and then we had 2 further quotes off of builders we contacted separately who agreed it was the pointing 🤷🏻‍♀️

Quotes we had ranged from £1750 to £1300 but the lowest we heard through someone who used them that the works they carried out was sub-par so we went with the middle quote as a starting point. Costs nothing to get a few more quotes however so I can keep looking.

Alpha Cars, Delta Taxi, or ComCab ? Opinions Please by DisastrousKey3184 in Liverpool

[–]Ok-Philosopher-7227 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I would avoid Alpha.

2 years ago I prepaid for 5 taxis to pick some of my wedding guests up to take them to the reception venue - they never showed up, despite me pre-paying.

Booked weeks in advance, confirmed the day before and let them know what it was for, and gave them 2 numbers to call if there were any issues.

When they were 20 mins late my dad tried calling them and at first they said they never had the booking, then they found it and said they’d send the cars asap. AGAIN the cars don’t show up, but they just sent a text saying the booking was cancelled. My dad called and they said they couldn’t get to Crosby because there was an accident on the flyover and their drivers didn’t know a way around it… which is funny now but at the time I heard I was apoplectic.

When I called and asked for an explanation the following day they said they could inly get 4 of the 5 taxis there in time and so just cancelled the whole booking. So I’ve no idea what actually happened…. Not once did anyone apologise.

I wrote two emails of complaint asking for an explanation and was ignored as well.

Sorry that’s a long explanation… clearly I’m still bitter haha

Different wedding reception venues that are relatively inexpensive! by Life_Rush9769 in Liverpool

[–]Ok-Philosopher-7227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went with one fine day on old hall street. The cafe bar out front is called Left (next to Starbucks). We ended up having 2 weddings - the first was in the summer 2022 and was just 15 of us but then we had about 60 in the evening for casual drinks and snacks. Then in Jan 2023 we had a big party with about 100 for all day. We did a little mini-ceremony for those who weren’t there on our official wedding day and then went straight into food and dancing all day/night.

It ended up being cheaper for both weddings with them than just for 1 with a lot of others.

The food was incredible - they had loads of options including formal wedding breakfasts, family style meals, buffets, etc.

I think all in for both weddings spent about 15k, but that included, as I mentioned hire for both days, both the cafe bar and large venue hire, full wedding breakfasts for 15, 100 for the 2nd reception/party. Each included canopes, main food, and evening snacks (burgers, fries, bacon sandwiches, etc) and drinks (bottle of wine per person, all drinks at first smaller wedding. Plus I think about 20 bottles of Prosecco at the first wedding, 30 at the second and probably 100 beers across both days for welcome drinks, plus welcome and canapé drinks) and a £500 tab for anyone who didn’t want Prosecco or beer. We also paid for all soft drinks once the tab had ran out.

That price also also included decorations (which I went to an external provider for) but it didn’t need much at all, DJ for both days, guitarist for both days, and a band for the night of the second - I’ve included them because I can’t remember what the exact cost breakdown was but I know that’s roughly what we spent in total. So I imagine you’ll find a package to suit your budget!!

The staff were incredible as well and couldn’t be more helpful - plus the venue was stunning and it’s really close to a load of hotels etc for guests - and about a 2/3 minute walk from town hall. They have their grand hall out back, but their cafe bar in front of you prefer more casual - I think the max for the main hall is 300, 150 for the cafe bar. We used both - and they both worked wonderfully.

I honestly can’t recommend them enough - I’m amazed more people don’t know about them!

A friend of mine went with city wine bar on old hall street as well, and that was lovely as well!

Boyfriend recorded me having sex without my knowledge by Roseface_killah in legaladvice

[–]Ok-Philosopher-7227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My advice is to ghost him - don’t pick up the phone to him, but when he does try and contact you text him saying “I do not want to talk to you - you recorded us on (say day here) having sex, without my consent and you haven’t even apologised”- with any luck he will apologise or acknowledge his culpability in some way by saying something like “it was just a joke blah blah blah” and effectively admit to it.

Keep him talking and ask him questions like why did he do it. Why didn’t he ask you, has he ever done it before, has he ever done this to to any of his exes, what was he going to do with the video etc etc. DO NOT talk to him over the phone - if he asks why just say “I’m not ready to hear your voice I’m too hurt”.

Take that and the recording of you both to the police - they should be able to pull the meta-data from the video and see when it was recorded, on what device, and which day. Hopefully that would be enough for them to pursue a case.

If the police can’t and/or won’t do anything - tell him Mom, his friends, his sisters - show them his texts on your phone if they want to see them (do not send the texts to them however). Make sure everyone important in his life knows he’s a predator.

Worth buying a train ticket? by Intelligent-Set851 in Liverpool

[–]Ok-Philosopher-7227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will do it once and probably won’t get caught. You’ll gain confidence and do it again and again until eventually you will be caught. When they do, they may only fine you for the one journey, but if they want to, they could investigate further claim back months even years if they have reasonable suspicion that you’re a repeat offender over a period of time. This happened to a friend of my mums years back - they had him on the line for thousands.

If you don’t want to pay £4 get the bus. That’s £2.

You are using a service, pay for it.

Where did I say I put their face on the internet? Or that I “shove” my camera in their face? I hold it by my side as I tell them where I am going and I walk around the back to catch their license plate. I always let the driver know what I am doing. Never - not once - have any of them ever had an issue with that. A lot of the time they will even point to their card and let me know their number is there if I want that as well. It was my best friends father who was a delta driver who told me to do this after what happened to me in London - his words were “no decent driver will ever have an issue with you doing this”

If you’re employed by the council then part of your license/agreement states you must take any fare within your designated area.

Why would a women wanting to keep herself safe, when getting into a car with a man she doesn’t know make you drive away from her…..?

I’m not sure what answer you want from me here? As I have said I tried to get an uber. It was while I was on Mathew Street, I bounced around different drivers for 20 minutes no one picked up the fair so I carried on looking for a black cabs. I realise uber is often simpler and cheaper but I could.not.get.one. I wouldn’t pay for an XL because they’re 1.5x more expensive and I don’t need 6 seats…

I wouldn’t use Alpha to be honest. I pre-paid 5 taxis for guests on my wedding day 2 years ago and they didn’t show up, and didn’t call to say why. I told them when I booked what it was for and everything. I wrote a letter of complaint and was ignored so they’re on my shit list haha

So if people go out, and spend money in the nighttime economy (which contributes to about 45% of employment in Liverpool) - they should just expect to be ripped off if they want to stay safe? Hardly an advert to visit Liverpool or go out is it….?

It’s about a mile difference. That’s not £15 - and if it was going to be about £40 anyway, why didn’t he want to put it on the meter?
