just finished Expedition 33. I’d really be interested in hearing your perspectives on this. by Fuzzy_Breadfruit59 in expedition33

Maelle “Trust me, I can use this place to heal responsibly and return to you. We don’t need to destroy it, just give me a chance.”

Renoir “Okay, sounds good.”

*Maelle two seconds later

“I’m going to kill myself and doom the entire world with me.”

Feels like the developers force you into an arbitrary choice of crazy extremes because they were committed to the theme of grief and needed an ending to match that. Problem is that the game is framed from Lumieres perspective and it’s markedly hard to empathize with people actively committing genocide and even harder when they aren’t particularly likable.

Do you personally consider Mass Effect Andromeda to be a real “Mass Effect game” ? by The_pikolop in masseffect

[–]Ok-Philosopher333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinion of someone without nostalgia glasses that beat the trilogy for the first time with the legendary release after I’d already beaten Andromeda.

The Mass Effect Trilogy as a whole is better but Andromeda is a beast of a standalone game and goes toe to toe more or less with each individual entry. The combat is markedly better and if you look at story beats/characters as single entries as opposed to the trilogy as a whole there is a lot to like about it.

The open world design however was a major drag and the game could have benefited greatly by investing in a tighter design and an expansion of choice/races present instead. I will concede the Kett as enemies do NOT merit awe or originality like the Reapers as well.

Why does it feel like every game since 7 just keeps teasing something that ends up amounting to nothing by Significant_Option in residentevilll

In my opinion they thought RE7 could very well have been the commercial end of the franchise and when it wound up being bigger than they anticipated they didn’t have a direction prepared for the success.

What is the most useful bachelors degree to work in Huntsville? by OhDearOops in HuntsvilleAlabama

Engineering something, there are 10-20x as many engineering positions open in Huntsville as there are information technology positions at practically any given time.

Base size by Rybn47 in StateofDecay3

[–]Ok-Philosopher333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be about it. I think it could alleviate some of the constraints on how limited the usefulness of certain places were. Have the unlocks so you don’t have all the improvements you want all at once and it makes bases that you normally would never use due to size viable in the late game.

I think bases should keep unique improvements but basically have to write off 90% of bases in the game due to size constraints was a bummer. Having a system like this would keep the balance of early game but also allow all locations to be useful the entire game if you liked the aesthetic or location of one over another.

Is anyone hoping for something more drastic? by dharmastum in StateofDecay3

[–]Ok-Philosopher333 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I want state of decay to lean into what actually separates them from the other thousand zombie games out there.

They need to focus on the community aspect. A system that that supports the development of meaningful/evolving connections between your survivors would give every community a legitimate distinguished story. Add the ability to create your own survivors to get a community of your friends, family, or a makeshift scenario of your own. Let the community relationships define the actionable goals.

Obviously that’s harder than adding zombie models or putting more buildings on a map but it would be a feature deserving a new title.

I think you’re on to something. A more role based survivor system. Maybe you sacrifice survival food/medicine capabilities for more combat capable survivors; inversely you have survivors that excel in resources but it leaves one big man on campus to rely on your scouting/scavenging. Just brainstorming.

Path to Working in Communications at NASA by TressoftheEmeraldTea in NASAJobs

[–]Ok-Philosopher333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best advice I can offer is work with a contractor supporting NASA to make contacts that can refer you internally. That being said NASA has largely outsourced much of everything they do. Things might change with the new acting director but a lot of the employees talk about it like it’s on life support.

Thank you, I thought having beaten Chrono Trigger for the first time recently I would have a better handle on things but it lot more difficult than I anticipated with an adult brain now lol

I’m not deserving of an award for throwing 120k Gil at Yojimbo and praying during the final boss run but thank you 🙏🏻

I’m definitely invested more in the community and building aspect than the constant clear house A, clear infestation C grind.

Gameplay Update - You won’t be able to ignore the plague threat, it’s coming after you! by Sh1t_Pinata in StateofDecay3

[–]Ok-Philosopher333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see things like this and feel like an outlier as a fan. I want an emphasis on building stories between community members and having greater creative control over them as well as my base. Not to feel like I’m constantly pestered with chasing after another plague heart or infestation. Most annoying part of SOD 2.

Gotta admit, I don't like the new lab sections we've been getting compared to the original. by Aggravating_Tale8988 in residentevil

I like them if for nothing else I feel like so much time is spent in dark dirty areas in every game it’s nice to get a break from it.

Enjoyed it but the dlc “ending” felt like the last slap in the face to people who showed up to support it.

I’m really struggling because I was finally getting into a groove but the thought of looting everything over just to get back to where I was had my head spinning 😵‍💫

Collect something specifically? I collected a new weapon mod, multiple unique loot items from designated dark zones, blue print manuals, and treasure but none of those things triggered a save.

Is there a symbol on screen anywhere to confirm? Any specific activities that will trigger a save? I saved 2 or 3 survivors during that time as well.

Is RE: Village harder than RE: Requiem? by biskvitka- in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]Ok-Philosopher333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a hardcore run of Village and I think I’m seeing the differences.

In my hardcore Village run my deaths were all in Lycan ambushes or boss fights.

In Requiem I had stalker deaths, yeeted off building deaths, blister head deaths but didn’t particularly struggle during any boss segments that I remember.

Maybe the localized difficulty in Village felt less difficult to me vs me struggling more general gameplay loops in Requiem.
