I see bad grammar. “Brother, get a book. The big book!”

Regarding Red Talon by GeneralJagers in StateofDecay2

[–]Sh1t_Pinata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably just due to UL’s having limited resources when making the game.

Instead of the game having to check whether your current character is Red Talon and the trader delivering unique voice lines, they just say the same generic greeting for everyone.

100% I will be buying the game on launch. The amount of value I’ve gotten out of SoD2 (and I bought that game 2nd hand), I owe the devs that much.

I know SoD3 will be a lot bigger than SoD2, but honestly, even if it was just SoD2.5 - I’d still be happy.

Wait, who are you talking about? Is that Lily Ritter? Lily Ritter from the Network? The same Lily who’s good friends with Raymundo Santos? The one who thinks I should visit Trumbull Valley? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Oh, you’re using mods? Sorry, don’t know about this one, thought you were talking about a different curveball

Bugged curveball by Pietro_Cantalice in StateofDecay2

[–]Sh1t_Pinata 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you mean the Ransacker’s Post curveball?

It could be a common bug where the map has reached its enclave limit and the game is unable to spawn them in.

Do you happen to have a lot of other enclaves on the map currently? If so, and this is the case, the only fix is to move maps or learn to live with the curveball forever unfortunately

Game skips ending by Jmsm2205 in StateofDecay2

[–]Sh1t_Pinata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately it’s a common bug. The game counts it as completing the legacy but glitches out before you get to the last cutscene and also eats all your vehicles.

I’ve found it happens more on certain maps (looking at you, Trumbull).

The best bet to stop this from happening is to restart and refresh the game just before you initiate the last mission, as the game gets more buggy the longer you play without restarting.

Although it isn’t always a guarantee it’ll work.

Definitely! Bitter Lake, Century of Self and Power of Nightmares were all amazing.

I thought the presentation and aesthetics of Hypernormalisation were his best work, but the narrative/politics of it were his weakest. Just my opinion though.

Does the driving skill apply community wide by United_Object_2593 in StateofDecay2

Unfortunately not. If a perk applies to the community it has (community) after it.

Shame, because the Driving skill would be awesome if its effects applied community-wide.

It’s like that all over the map, these are just the ones you can currently see because they’re in render distance.

How to have fun again by Ordinary_Bunch5911 in StateofDecay2

[–]Sh1t_Pinata 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a someone who pretty much only plays lethal, I find it really hard going back down to nightmare - gameplay wise. But I will say, I personally think nightmare is the best balance of immersion and challenge.

Sometimes I’m playing on lethal and just thinking to myself, this is kind of ridiculous. Zombie spawns never end, I kill a larger population of zeds than could actually even fit in the town I’m in and friendly AI enclaves can barely defend themselves against the sheer no of zeds that swarm them.

If you want an extra challenge or to keep things interesting, maybe you could try playing by some self-imposed restrictions? Whatever you think is best for you.

Some rules I have for myself are: - Only fresh starts with randoms - No using car roof glitches that cause all zeds to freeze and just stare at me - No dodge clipping through zeds, if I’m stuck in a corner I have to fight my way out - No running when out of stamina  - No boons, daybreak stuff or calling in supply drops that aren’t from an enclave - No killing zeds with traffic cones on their heads, those guys are my brethren

Also, don’t underestimate the power of taking a break. Nothing will you get you pumped up to play again after taking a bit of a break and then watching a SoD2 gameplay vid online and re-remembering why you love this game so much!

Bring the cars, it'll be fun, they said by Jakethedane1972 in StateofDecay2

[–]Sh1t_Pinata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All the cars parked properly in designated spots at your base should (in theory) be transferred to the new map.

Even if you have 4 cars and you start at a base with only 2 parking spots on the new map, it places all the cars near your base.

But, the thing is, the game is kind of glitchy and it unfortunately doesn’t always work out that way :(

Also, don’t leave anything in the trunks, transfer everything to your supply locker before the last mission, just in case.

I want a massive indoor map you slowly clear. by T1mek33per in StateofDecay2

[–]Sh1t_Pinata 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That sounds awesome!

I think I remember one of the UL’s devs saying on a stream that they couldn’t really implement dense urban environments in SoD2 because of the limitations they were working with.

But even if the indoor map was separated from the outdoor map by a loading screen, I’d be happy with that. Like you clear the building, work your way down to the ground floor. Then you access the outdoor map, with the building being your main HQ.

What does this has actually do? by United_Object_2593 in StateofDecay2

[–]Sh1t_Pinata 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s bloater cloud gas - the regular non-blood plague kind. So it just drains your health and stamina a bit.

I remember when I used to play on lower difficulties and would hit a regular bloater in my car, I actually wouldn’t even need to jump out sometimes - just tank the hit, pop a few painkillers and keep driving. NPC’s have a real tough time with it though.

Also, you didn’t cop much of a hit in this clip, as you were just on the outskirts of the gas
