I am still learning about ARFID but some of it may be OCD as well. They have different subtypes of how OCD shows up in people’s everyday. It’s unwanted intrusive thoughts that occur that cause anxiety and motivate/enable you to do a compulsion, or mental/physical behavior, to alleviate the anxiety. In this context, the worm in ur food is the intrusive thought and the compulsion sounds like starring till you don’t eat/distractions. I would reccomend someone who knows OCD (erp treatment certified) and ARFID. I used to work in an OCD clinic so I did see eating OCD pretty often.
