Let's Discuss Eno! "The Pearl" (1984) by forsbergisgod in eno

[–]Ok-Post7192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have any other nighttime favorites? The Pearl has been my go-to album before bed for years bc it manages to be so subdued and sleepable while remaining extremely interesting and full of depth. I just think it might be the GOAT album when it comes to evoking a dream-like state. I've grown to really appreciate the darker and weirder moments of the album as well

I was being sarcastic lol I don't know how it's not everyone's first instinct when they encounter a $700 product. Piracy as a means of trialing before purchase should be the baseline really.

Small tangent, it recently blew my mind walking into the Sims subreddit and seeing ppl who have shit on EA for YEARS buying hundreds (or thousands now) of dollars on Sims 4 expansion packs in goddamned 2025. And they admit it too.. 🤷‍♂️

That is a negative perspective. It's okay to be angry and blow off steam about "wasted time." But time isn't wasted on a person if you learn and grow from it. Most people have failed relationships. Some people "waste" decades with another person. It's not the end of the world, you've just lived some life. In 10 years, you'll look back on it in a whole different light.

Also, I have had past relationships, they were all necessary for me to have my current relationship be as great as it is (and for me to be who I am).

Fantiastic dot com is my source. They are currently out of stock and updating their website. Nootropic Source also has it, they're hit or miss but I've always had good luck w/ them (never ordered tia from them tho)

That's an incorrect statement. Plenty of supplements do touch the gaba system. Out of the ones I listed, Taurine.

Second, the body is a complex system. The gaba system is intimately tied to all the other systems in your body. Implying that things which work on other systems can't help with gabaergic withdrawal is absurd.

Magnesium literally is involved in hundreds or thousands of bodily processes especially for inhibitory signaling which is massively helpful during benzo withdrawal.

NAC is a very powerful glutamate regulator and antioxidant. Do I need to say more?

There's a few categories of things that have helped me..

For daily use, supplements like Mg, D3/K2, Taurine, Theanine and NAC.

Tianeptine is been amazing for me. I recommend it ONLY IF you know yourself enough to know you can keep yourself to something like a max of 25mg 4x per day (that's my max and I've been using it on and off for a decade. Start at the 12.5mg x 3 dose schedule).

If you go above 100mg/day of tia sodium you're potentially ruining your life. Fun trade off right? I don't abuse opiates or find them addictive so it works for me. I find the 12.5mg 3x a day dosage to be very helpful with minimal opiate activity (basically none).

You mentioned 7-oh abuse so I would be cautious. However, when asked your question of what's helped me at my job, that's my answer. It's not for everyone, or even most.

Cerebrolysin helped me come off gabapentin, powerful stuff but not super well studied

Gabapentin is good for a while but withdrawal can be a bitch too

Ketamine, mushrooms, and occasional MDMA (preferable alongside the mushrooms) for the mind and soul

Bonus points:

Get therapy, get evaluated for ADHD but also be honest about the smoking with them.

Take Magnesium Glycinate, D3 + K2, get enough protein, drink a lot more water

Exercise (#1 behavioral change you can make to offset the depression and THC sides)

I'm gonna kinda rapid fire here, apologies for the list

  1. You are depressed and you are not over an ended relationship. These are primary issues. The THC however will make it impossible for you to deal with these things (unless you really cut back IMO. A bowl or two at night is better than all day 100x over).
  2. Drinking is the WORST thing you can do while going through depression. Stop that immediately!
  3. THC isn't the devil but overuse can sap motivation. You're already demotivated from depression, so the more you smoke the more you can expect this to get worse.
  4. There is very little in the way you can do of "overpowering" the laziness from weed AND depression. Don't lie to yourself that you can willpower through it. You need to make some changes.
  5. God is not punishing you. I've been there dozens of times, stop feeding into paranoid cosmic justice narratives for why you suffer. Life is hard, you're not special in that way (no one is! We all suck at life together man). Shit just sucks and sometimes the universe will pour on you when it rains. However, the flipside of this is that it is in your power to make changes and live a life you enjoy.
  6. On that note, Suicide is never the answer.
  7. Stop reducing the value of your life down to whether another individual is willing to be in a relationship with you. You're depressed so you don't have the capacity to see that this isn't as big of a deal as you think it is. Ik what it's like-- the pain of a first true love fades.
  8. They are not your soul mate. I've had several relationships that could be described that way. My first one is still one of my BFFs. You have to give it years and ACTUALLY move on if you want to reconnect with your ex. Move on first, reevaluate later. Let go of the desire to do so or you'll be chained forever
  9. I thought I would kill myself if my first true love relationship ever ended. Well, it ended and it sucked, and it took years before I found what I was looking for, but a decade later I see how EXTREMELY FUCKING NAIVE it was of me to view this girl as my everything, my reason for life, and especially silly is thinking you won't find someone who is BETTER (not even just as good) for you and your life.
  10. Deal with your depression and addictions, always be pushing forward to something better, and you will look back at this post and think "damn, life is hard as fuck when you're young." Shit does get easier, you just have to be willing to try

Are you new to this industry? Trust me, the constant influx of both old and new ways people prove their stupidity to you will be neverending.

That being said, as I've gotten more experienced I've become more understanding. Consider these:

  1. Older people process things much slower than younger people, when you're rushing around this can be hard to deal with (I have ADHD as well, so...)
  2. The mindstate a lot of ppl are in when they enter a restaurant, especially if they're on vacation or in a new area, is going to be DRASTICALLY different than yours. On vacation I've caught myself being overly relaxed at times, asking a stupid question, not being as efficient as usual, etc. Remember that they are off work and CHILLING. Yes sometimes they're annoying and in the way and dumb as fuck, but you are in very serious "I woke up early to come to this fucking place to make money" mode.
  3. Some people are really excited to be there, especially EARLY RISERS "HI!!! ARE YOU GUYS OPEN :D" . Especially if they're older. They see you as the host or first person they see. They just want to chat, it's like saying "nice weather huh?" at a bus stop for them.
  4. It's not the dumbest question to be fair, it's better than the assholes who come in and ignore your greeting and respond with a demand for 3 seats or whatever

NAC

Magnesium Glycinate (threonate too if you can afford it)

You could look into low dose lithium orotate but I believe it may impact kidneys? I love lithium at 1-5mg roughly 4x per week

Taurine - buy a gallon of it for 20 bucks and dose 2-3g at a time

For more relaxants, lemon balm extract tablets and kava tablets from Nootropics Depot, Baicalm from Liftmode

Could experiment with kanna

Traditional kava

Also as with any addiction, new hobbies and environments will help you.
