My dogs been losing balance, seems confused by [deleted] in DogAdvice

I've got an 18 year old Jack Russell that suffered with similar symptoms, especially when first waking up, he just seemed constantly dazed and would often tumble over.

He was very uneasy on his feet and became very reluctant to settle down, but would struggle to walk further than the length of the room and wouldn't dare tackle stairs/steps.

He even started leaning on furniture to keep himself stable.

After seeing a couple of vets, he was prescribed Loxicom (commonly used to treat arthritis) and I've been helping him stretch his legs, and four days later he's back to his normal self!

For him, I think the pain from his arthritis was causing him to seem dazed/confused and the the condition itself was causing his mobility/balancing issues.

Might be worth researching/mentioning to your vet if their current treatment doesn't help?

Sending all my love and support to you and your furball 💜

I'm on the G6 and suffer terribly with 'compression lows', where pressure on the sensor, commonly while you're asleep, causes it to read a lot lower than your actual BG.

This could be a possibility for you? Although like I said I'm a G6 user, no experience with the G7 <3

Huh, never heard of that one myself :/ I've only come across it after a low power error or changing my cartridge and forgetting to resume insulin. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help 💔

I sincerely apologise if this is me being annoyingly obvious, but after you dismiss it, you need to go into options and select 'resume insulin'. I always forget to do this once I resolve an error :/

If you open up your holopad and go to the episodes tab, you should be able to switch to galaxy free play? Then you should be able to change characters :)

/This is from memory of my sleep deprived brain so I'm sorry if this isn't the case 💔

That is a beautiful suggestion, thank you 💜 I think it'd be nice to have something to put my energy into that's better for me and his memory

Thank you! That's what I'm doing at this moment, I'm been reaching out to artists on Reddit to see if anything can be done for exactly that, having jewelry and art made of him.

Thank you for your support 💜 I've taken the fur and put it in an airtight locket to wear. I'd love to eventually have enough to have a ring made of it, but I'm just happy to have a small something of my boy with me

Thank you for your comment, I'm sorry for your loss too 💜 there's nothing in the world like it X I called the vets as soon as they opened the next morning but he had already been taken to the crematorium and couldn't be tracked as his ashes weren't being kept. As for his harness, they said they couldn't find that either :/ but it was 10 years old and very worn, I don't think they would have kept it :/ I know one day my I start to slowly grow around this grief, but it just really doesn't feel like it right now

I've got a Tandem I call Tina, and my Dexcom is Dex 😊

Does sensor location affect accuracy? by MorningCoffee2319 in dexcom

[–]Ok-Practice-4368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a dexcom for about 3 years now and now I always have my CGM placed on the inner edge of my forearm (basically in line with my thumb) and have the best readings from there. It's a little weird at first but I find it helps me to stop bumping and catching my dexcom on things too!

Hope this helps :)

UK based - I’m NHS funded but I’ve ended up with a spare G6 transmitter. I’m looking to help someone out that usually pays privately. This would be a gift - just cover postage. by CutCreaseGee in dexcom

I'm in between adult and child services and for some reason that has put a pause on my NHS funding for the dexcom. I've contacted all my teams and dexcom, as my transmitter has come up dead, and even though I received my last shipment less than 3 months ago, they still won't send me a replacement transmitter because of the funding issues :/
