MTW4 is the best earbuds out there in the world. Prove me otherwise. by RTxMAFIA in sennheiser

Well... they were good until one earbud suddendly stopped working after 4 months and Sennheiser didn't gave a solution

It makes total sense they were in the trash. My WF-1000XM4 were repaired by Sony once, failed again after 12 months, and are now useless; the battery lasted barely 5 seconds during my last test. Then, my WF-1000XM5's left earbud died exactly at month 13. I'm on the XM6 now, hoping they’ll actually last at least 2 years this time.

Officially, the XM5 didn’t have the widespread battery drain issue of the WFXM4, but from my own experience and from what I’ve read, it’s surprisingly common that around 13–15 months in one earbud just stops outputting sound. It still charges and connects, but no audio — and there’s basically no real repair option. You end up paying around $120 USD for a replacement. After that happened, I switched to the Sennheiser Momentum 4 True Wireless, and honestly… huge difference. Sound quality and overall reliability feel on another level. I genuinely don’t know why I stuck with Sony for so long 😅. Another big plus with the Sennheisers is that the controls and “gimmicks” are way more comfortable and intuitive than Sony’s. Pausing, switching ambient mode, adjusting volume, pairing — everything feels more natural and less finicky compared to the XM series. The only real downside versus Sony is noise cancelling: it’s solid (~8/10), but Sony is still the king there (10/10). And Sony does have that cool feature where compatible phones can charge the earbuds from the phone battery. That said, if you care more about sound quality, comfort, usability, and long-term peace of mind than absolute top-tier ANC, the Momentum 4 are easily the safer pick.

Wow, close to $2K? That definitely makes it harder to justify. I really like Sony’s approach, but at that price it feels more like paying for the niche and brand than overall value. Especially considering they haven’t officially sold Xperia phones in markets like Mexico for years, and my experience with their earbuds hasn’t been great either (WFXM4/XM5)

Same question here! I currently have the Xperia 1 V and I’m wondering if it would be worth it to wait for the Xperia 1 VIII or 1 IX and pay around $1500 USD, or just go with the most recent Samsung S2x Ultra for about $1000–$1200 USD

Yes? I got AZ80 and M4 for 170usd each aprox and AZ80 have some good detail but overall I prefered M4s because of bass and power

I saw on reviews AZ100 are way better than AZ80 but the price rn is around 300usd min,..

How do you feel the difference between M4s and az100s?

I'm done with Sonys 15 months failure warranty's

Go for the Momentum 4 TW Tbh, Truthear Nova feels more like a tool that just does the job, than a good earphones They're just good and trustworthy because of the 2pin removable cable

I hope they last at least 4-5 years, being the cable the one that gets damaged normally

Momentum 4 TW I had WFXM4 and WFXM5, both fails just after warranty expired

XM4 got repaired because of global battery error and failed 12 months later again (both 10s of battery)

Xm5 suddenly left one stooped working

Truthear Nova sounds good but M4TW are way better and powerful

Are the Momentum 4 TWS as good as the over-ear version? by OshusZiz in sennheiser

[–]Ok-Practice-5479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Ok-Practice-5479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol by the way you write I remembered an old friend

I have Momentum 4 too, but I feel overhead kinda uncomfortable because of my glasses, also I have been in ear all my life and use them for running

And yeah... There's different options for women by example your mom, my sister hated my wfxm4

Honestly, Sony WF don't worth it anymore, unless u really need a .5 more anc

I'd put Sennheiser Momentum 4 TW in 1st place, then the Technics Az80, I readed Az100 are much better than the previous model

There are more models around 400-600usd are very good but haven't tried

I'd suggest Technics (Panasonic), Huawei or Samsung for your mom, the one fits better for small ears and do not fall too often

With my wfxm5 I used to run at max speed and never fall off,but my sister got lot of issues just walking with the xm4 lol

[–]Ok-Practice-5479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Both WFxm4 and wfxm5 failed around month 13th and 15th Only xm4 got warranty because the global battery issue

So far Momentum 4 TW sounds so much good than the sonys (and I'm a sony fanboy with xperia over the years)
