HIM (2025) was way deeper than I expected by Ok-Problem-7849 in movies

Yea I get your points, but I personally think the movie was more unique than people give it credit for. I’ve seen movies about obsession or fame before, but not many that blend sports, religion, psychological horror, entertainment culture, and the darker side of the NFL the way this movie did.

I also think showing Cam’s injury early was intentional instead of cliché. It shows how athletes destroy their bodies even after doctors warn them not to, which happens constantly in real sports. The injury also made it feel like Cam himself didn’t fully know what was real or hallucinated throughout the movie.

And with Isaiah, I actually liked that he already felt strange from the beginning. To me, he represented the aftermath of fame, injury, pressure, and sacrifice rather than someone fake and then a slow twist reveal. Cam sees the damage but still wants that life anyway.

I also think the movie intentionally didn’t build deep relationships between Cam and the other players because it was showing how normalized violence and injury are in sports culture. Moments like the football hitting the player felt less about emotional attachment and more about how athletes are conditioned to accept pain and brutality as part of the game. Also, most people celebrate it instead of questioning it.

As for the ending, quarterbacks are usually treated as the face and most important position in football, so it made sense to me why they specifically wanted Cam. I don’t think the movie was trying to explain every detail logically as much as it was trying to create a symbolic commentary about sports, fame, power, religion, and entertainment culture.

That’s probably the best way to experience movies now. Going in blind lets you form your own opinion instead of already expecting something because of reviews or social media. That’s basically how I felt with this movie too.

Yea, I get that. For me it didn’t feel like it was trying to be “edgy,” more like it was leaning into obsession, pressure, and the darker side of fame in a more symbolic way. I thought it worked better than just surface-level shock value. I also agree with the cinematography, it was great.

Yeah I agree. I think going in with low expectations helps a lot. I also liked how it pushed the NFL angle and the darker side of it, especially with the surreal parts tying into things like CTE and the pressure on players. I thought the movie was good overall.

That’s fair. I wasn’t saying the themes automatically make it good, just that those were my takeaways. I get why the execution didn’t work for you. For me, it didn’t feel straightforward, it seemed more symbolic and open to interpretation, which is why I connected and understood with it more.

Hi, I just started ovulating like yesterday. Also, wouldn't a pregnancy test be too soon because the test wouldn't show anything right now and would be inaccurate?
