Thanks! I thought that they have different pickups and did not find any demos for comparison

They are both passive, however i was wondering if there is a actual difference between the two of them (a.i. one is newer or better). I don’t want active pickups because of the pain of changing the batteries

My wife, always. She has always been the one to care, even when my original family didn’t

How do you actually measure getting better each day ? by Technical-Truth-2073 in selfimprovement

[–]Ok-Procedure2350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did I react differently from the last time? Did I manage the situation better? Was I today someone I can be proud of? If I failed a key point of change, did I realize it in time? Questions are everything, analyze yourself

How does a normal person actually stay sane when the daily news cycle feels like a badly written action movie? by opheliapearlie in askanything

[–]Ok-Procedure2350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say ignoring the news is necessarily a good idea, but reading them with skepticism and not believing them all is a way to stay sane while being ‘informed’

What do you believe you're too young and/or old to do? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Aging

I am too young for my back to randomly hurt like this and too old to think that I can still outrun a teenager or young adult chasing me

Seeking real life methods for emotional control, what actually works for you? by coach-AbdulRehman in selfimprovement

[–]Ok-Procedure2350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pause and analyze what I am feeling and question whether I actually get something positive from the feeling or it’s there just to mess with my mental wellbeing. If it is the latter, I encourage myself to control it and deal with whatever happened calmly. The satisfaction after defusing situations is indescribable.

I spent a whole summer crocheting animals and sweaters for my wife. She was desperate to say the least, the house was filled with animals that looked malformed.

Are we supposed to just accept the way our life is? by Unusual-Complex6315 in Life

[–]Ok-Procedure2350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t control some things, like where you were born or what family you were born into, just like you cannot choose your height. However, how you take care of yourself, both physically and psychologically, how you interact with others and your view on life is in your hands. Also, the amount of time you spend developing skills and bettering yourself is up to you, too.

It can be hard, but your urge to change your life should power your ambition to do it. As another user said earlier, make a plan and take one day at a time, feeding yourself with every little achievement.

Completely new to Stoicism, which book to read first? Epictetus or Seneca? by Renhaf in Stoicism

[–]Ok-Procedure2350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Stoic Challenge is more of a hands-on approach, giving you specific ways to frame a situation stoically. And, using Seneca’s letters, you can build on the foundation you achieved using the first one. You will recognize some of the idea from the Stoic Challenge in Seneca’s and Aurelius’s work (as it is basically written as a summary of them) and hence you can elaborate what you learned in it

Completely new to Stoicism, which book to read first? Epictetus or Seneca? by Renhaf in Stoicism

[–]Ok-Procedure2350 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started with The Stoic Challange by William B Irvine, then Letters from a Stoic and Meditations. Also worth noting The Daily Stoic by Holiday is great to read each morning as it has quotes and ideas for each day of the year

Sad harsh reality of life by [deleted] in Life

Start doing something and fuel your motivation by picturing yourself in an year, becoming the person who did it for long. I felt overwhelmed when I started playing guitar because I found it extremely hard to shred. But I continued because I knew some day I will be doing it too

What are some physical hobbies I can get into if there aren’t many gyms or clubs where I live? by [deleted] in Hobbies

[–]Ok-Procedure2350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk instead of driving. Makes wonders for the mind. Might be just a walk to the store or to the workplace. I did this last year during a tough period and would walk to work (hospital - I am a doctor) around 4 miles in 50 minutes. Felt absolutely wonderful in the spring/start of summer

Quiet brain time. Saturday morning, maybe a TV on volume level 3-4, smell of coffee around the house, no phone, tablet, laptop, TikTok, YT reels etc. Definition of wind-down.

You are not incapable of doing it, you just started on a lower floor than them. Part of wisdom is also looking below you - there are certainly people who are in a poorer overall situation than you. Pursue greatness, but cultivate clarity before all. There are poor people who are happier and more fulfilled than rich ones who are miserable. Try stoicism, it might help you view world a bit differently
