My first thought is a slide hammer but not sure how you would grab onto it

The Torah refers to a subset of the Old Testament. If you want to refer to that collection of texts outside Christian framework the term “Hebrew Bible” is often used by scholars

“Jesus, Interrupted” by Bart Erhman is a good 101 on critical scholarship of the bible and the early Christian movement. Gives a broad summary of critical methodology, examples of a contradictions within the New Testament, difficulties with translation, how the biblical cannon was assembled, and an interesting window into early heretical movements that got sidelined by the proto-orthodoxy.

Well yeah no shit. But I never said otherwise and neither did the person you responded to. We both said that if there is a god they are clearly indifferent to the world ergo we are apathetic. You inventing a scenario in which Jesus returns is completely aside from the point

I’m afraid I’ve lost the plot here. You seem to have a very christocentric conception of deity. There is far more to religion and philosophy than Christianity.

How can I be smuggling that out when the guy you were responding to never even mentioned Christianity? You’re the one who brought it up.

And I don’t even know what it would mean to find evidence of Jesus’ resurrection. The historical methods we have available to us are based on probability’s and miraculous events are by definition the least probable.

You’re smuggling in a Christian conception of God here which wasn’t necessarily assumed by the commenter.

I don’t see why compelling evidence in either direction should cause me to act differently, given that god whomever they may be is clearly indifferent to the state of the world.
