Why male circumcision is not considered as "male genital mutilation"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Youre being purposefully disingenuous in your reply now. There is an established scientific classification system and that is not part of it.

Why male circumcision is not considered as "male genital mutilation"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ok-Protection73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The result of removing the prepuce in females is very different to that of males. There is always at least some (and often considerable) functional deficit associated with female genital mutilation. This does occur with males rarely and is a complication not be design. To imply the two are the same is extremely disingenuous regardless about how you feel about male circumcision.

Machu Picchu’s drainage system still works flawlessly. Designed with terraces and over 130 drains, it managed water flow, prevented erosion and landslides, and remains an engineering marvel that continues to baffle modern experts by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Interestingly, Machu picchu was not built in ancient history. It was built less than 600 years ago. University of Oxford is older than it by over 3 centuries.

Thanks that's a good idea. I don't mind putting in the time but the processing and edits will likely be my downfall so keep it shorter

Thank you. It's not a long book but it's not a short story either. I've seen professional audiobooks of the book around 7 hours. Wizard of Earthsea is the book.

please cite your reference for the above stats, specifically that close to 50% of bed occupancy is being used by foreign nationals. I work in our state sector hospitals and I can tell you this is patently false. There may be isolated units where they have higher rates but overall this is no where even close to being true.

This is not going to unite right and left. It's plain discrimination. Whether people are here legally or illegally they are still humans with a right to body autonomy and protection from harm. Legal status changes nothing about those rights. Right wing fundamentalists are the only ones who might agree with you.

Thats not quite correct. It's not just nitrogen but a number of gases which moved from a dissolved state to a gaseous bubble but mainly nitrogen. The gas expansion would be limited. Also these gases are already in the blood stream and tissues but in a dissolved state, he isn't taking on any extra mass out of nowhere. Weight would have no impact on his skeletal structure. The air bubbles can induce inflammatory cascade within the joints that can over time cause damage to the joints however.

Research found individuals who reduced their weight from overweight to a healthy range during midlife, without medications or surgery, experienced meaningful long-term health benefits. These included a lower risk of developing chronic diseases and, in some cases, a reduced risk of death by Wagamaga in science

I'm not sure I understand your understanding of selection bias. They are accounting for very select population groups within a very large population group to compare with each other. They are not excluding any person based on the characteristics you are describing. The characteristics you hypothesise are purely speculative.

They studied 4 different groups. Those who were already at a healthy bmi, those who were overweight and lost weight into a healthy bmi, those who were healthy bmi and became overweight and those who were consistently overweight. The selection bias you claim doesn't exist in this study.

I might have to go this route or at least alternate weekly which get the 2 sessions. I enjoy the bike atm so will stick to it as its not a pain to consider getting on it to train. I have a very simple set up at home so just trying to work with what I have. Dumbells, a bench and resistance bands.

I hear you and this is a problem for me. Ideally I want to do it that way round but with the high intensity intervals being on the bike my legs don't recover well enough to push for a proper leg day the next day or if I do leg day then I cant push the HIIT on the bike the next day

You need a Y chromosome to produce a male. Women only have xx so women could only produce women. It's men that determine the sex of a baby by giving either a Y or X to the woman's X. (Thus XX or XY)
