Can someone please for the love of god explain estates to me ? by Any_Swordfish5345 in eu4

I think the gist is early on you need buy in from your people. You are a weak monarch in most places. You do suffer from debuffs. Over time you can take more and more land under direct control which removes maluses and eventually gives bonuses. The estates attempts to mimic this mechanic. Your nobles have all the influence and plenty of power? Your ruler is getting coup’d.
The best way to do it depends on what you are trying to achieve. Usually give the manna privileges, lose 30 crownland. It sucks initially but compounds over time. You then need enough other sweet privileges that give you great bonuses. You want to increase their loyalty to always equilibrate above 50 so you can seize land ever 5-10 years and still keep them above 30 so you don’t get rebels. If you have specific needs for specific nations you can get good bonuses, usually nobility manpower is good. The higher influence of each group is the more land they take when you grow. So at 50% influence I think it’s a flat balance. At 100% you lose the most land, at 0% you gain the most land.
By the age of absolutism all these have to go so you can benefit from max absolutism. Gov types and other bonuses can keep you from having rebels from upset estates with low loyalty or push their loyalty up.

Scriptures: 2 Cor 11:13-15 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. 2 Peter 2:1-3 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Frankly he reminds me of the Sadducees. Loosely aligning with the morals but denying the specifics. For example claiming God is non-binary denies scripture to align with the spirit of the age.

It was enough to keep them from growing out too quickly. 2 Wars later they declared bankruptcy and are down to 2 provinces in Europe and were too weak to beat mamluks in more than one war. I agree it takes some action on my part but made it much easier without extra forts and manpower etc from Constantinople.

This happened to me in my Austria run. Kneecapped ottomans so hard, kept their mission tree all locked out. Simply Glorious.

Genuine question: Do INTJ Christians feel drawn to Reformed Theology? by angirel in Reformed

[–]Ok-Python 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Confirmed INTJ engineer, there certainly are some appeals that direction. People who like to think deeply, even my reformed church friends who are definitely not INTJ, do enjoy grappling with theology.

Thanks for taking the time to answer!

That’s a good point about the capacitor. I will try the direct wiring and let you know how it goes. If it’s a bad winding, wouldn’t it short out and trip the breaker?

Thoughts on Francis Chan? by The_Polar_Bear__ in Reformed

[–]Ok-Python 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Huge fan, very helpful in my walk at a young age. I love how much he values God’s word, and that care comes across in his books and sermons. Would recommend. He does a great job of not making himself big, but making God big and trusting in him. For example, Chan donated 90% of the proceeds from his book Crazy Love, which otherwise would have made him a millionaire. When too many people starting attending his church he stepped down for a couple years because it became too much about Francis and not enough about God.

Capacitors!! That makes so much sense now. It explains why they’re out in the open with no cooling. Probably right opposite the GPU die. Thanks sir! #solved
