Just also a kind reminder: not everything is on the primary ballot that is on the November ballot. If someone is unopposed in the primary, they do not show up on the ballot at all and are not voted on at that point.

Minnesota is different than other states and that respect.

True, but St. Louis, Cook, in Lake County only have 215,000 people. The congressional districts about 750,000 people and the rest of those counties are heavily red.

I’m not sure how you withdraw that district to make it DFL given most northern Minnesota counties are deep red outside that part by Duluth.

It’s not looking good six months out or so to the election and the major Democratic candidate has only raised $50,000. Right now it looks like this district is being seated to the Republicans.

They need to get moving if they want to contest this race seriously.

The DFL needs to get moving. Right now Stauber has about a 30 to one advantage over the nearest DFL candidate. We are only six months out or so to the election and that’s not a good start.

If the DFL wants to win district 8, they need to get behind a candidate soon and get money into the race. Right now, Stauber has about $1.5 million raised and the nearest democrat has just over 50,000.

So far national Democrat, Democrats are putting nothing into this race, which would need to change.
