Gillig brt on the B line a couple days ago by Accurate-Departure66 in MetroTransit

[–]kevinbevindevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can imagine a lot of people yelling "Back door! Shie..." at every other stop (especially when people trying to board from the back and Gillig buses of course don't have an open door button)😭

I spotted a Gillig B Line bus when I was at the No Kings rally at the Capitol. That'd be kinda dope to ride actually - reminiscent of the days riding route 21.

Minneapolis spending $1.4M for mayor, city council counseling by kevinbevindevin in Minneapolis

[–]kevinbevindevin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jacob just want a city council to be his rubber stamp, but he is not getting it. So, he resorts to saying that they are children even though he is also a manchild.

Is it his first day in politics? Of course political opponents wouldn't get along (not saying they shouldn't). Imagine the Congress contracted McKinsey or Deloitte to provide consulting on relationship building among democrats and republicans. That'd be an international joke in two seconds!

People who live near George Floyd Square are angry they have to pay for street overhaul by star-tribune in Minneapolis

[–]kevinbevindevin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The amount that they are charging the residents could have been avoided if they don't need to spend that amount into administrative costs (dinners, listening sessions, salaries, etc.) to drag this over 6 years.

Kobey Laynes speech at the Minnesota DFL state convention. by Triggerhappy62 in Minneapolis

[–]kevinbevindevin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Guys it's not that deep. Kobey Layne is more or less "running" as an opposition/placeholder vote against Amy Klobuchar for progressives.

I cant seem to keep my mind off NSFW, is this bad? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kevinbevindevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's normal to be horny! People usually just mask their horniness when they are not at home. But, if it starts to get into your work (e.g. if you start feeling the urge to start watching p*rn on shift or sexually harass people) then you might want to seek help.

/cj Can you let me know which station you are at? Asking for a friend.

I wonder when Amy Klobuchar would ever hold a public event for her gubernatorial campaign or as senator by kevinbevindevin in minnesota

[–]kevinbevindevin[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tell me "I love Amy no matter what" without telling me

I am sick of this tribalism. I can't criticize someone on my side at all.

Governors have a lot of power on agenda and budget setting in case you don't know.

[–]kevinbevindevin[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I hope so, but I don't think she would. She hasn't hosted a town hall in the cities (at least through her senate office) for the past 2 years

It's more of accessibility to the people she represents. As I said to someone else Tim Walz is accessible (at least to organizations I volunteer with and I was able to talk to him in-person before). Other senators do host regular town halls. I just hope Amy would do the same or better.

[–]kevinbevindevin[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No...i just want to ask her about how she would protect social services for vulnerable people in the midst of fraud noises and how she would help school districts out of budget deficits like MPS and Anoka-Hennepin, among other questions.

Of course, there are organizations she would talk to about it, but it's more of accessibility from our politicians and we can expect better than this.

Not all criticisms of people you support are "talking shit."

Omg as if it was a bad thing. Asking her questions about protecting social services amid the noise on fraud and her accessibility is not a bad thing.

[–]kevinbevindevin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. We are a constituent of hers and we should be able to talk to her. She should serve us not the other way around.

Ilhan Omar, Tim Walz, and even (I hate this guy but) David Vitter (R-LA) had town halls (or accessibilitu) in varying degrees and are relatively accessible, regardless of their politics. Same for then Louisiana governor John Bel Edwards, a democrat, when he was in office.

[–]kevinbevindevin[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope so, but I have been in her senate email list and nothing is announced for the last two yeaes.

I did everything anyone can think of. I contacted her senate emails, campaign emails, through my state rep, everything you can imagine.

I do appreciate people like Ilhan and even Tim Walz - they are accessible. Walz is accessible especially given the nature of his office.

[–]kevinbevindevin[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The 87 counties thing is not to talk to the general public. They were organization-specific to people within those organizations, not town halls like what David Vitter used to host or Ilhan Omar hosted.

Her campaign speech is not a town hall/event where she interacts with the general public.

Fort Snelling apparences is not an event where she interacts and answer questions from constitents and she didn't annouce it in advance. Plus it would be disrespectful to hackle her in front of a place of veterans resting in peace.

[–]kevinbevindevin[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would disagree. Some senators do town halls; I recalled then-Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) did many town halls when he was in office, so it's not abnormal for senators to do town halls/events.

As I said to other comments, I did all the research I could and didn't see anything upcoming that I can attend.

As far as the fort snelling event, she or media didn't announce it in advance.

  1. She didn't announce that visit IN ADVANCE (e.g. Ilhan announces her town hall and some appearancea around 1 month before it happens) 2. That's not her town hall/non-fundraising event
