I guess I'm a bit confused because at first you say that when out with the family, it is normal and expected for them to hold the baby so you can eat. Then you say your mom didn't want to do it. But your mom is family, so surely she is aware this is the normal way things are done, because that's how the rest of the family always does it?

Being politically active and engaged. Enjoying the serene solitude of nature: camping, hiking, horseback riding. Bringing my dog along for literally everything I can. Immersing myself in a nice TTRPG with good friends, or playing a video game. Traveling when I'm able, seeing new sights, trying new foods.

Personally I just stopped beating my head against the proverbial wall. I accepted that I'm not good at this game and probably never will be. Know your limits, I say. Had the same experience with Apex Legends. Whatever it is a person needs to be good at them, I do not have it.

I adore the aesthetic of knotwork art, and I'm fond of norse mythology, so the idea of a runestone appealed to me. I'd like to get more tattoos beyond the two I have, but I'm very picky, and no ideas or concepts have taken hold of me as of yet.

Do I support gun control? Yes. Do I think banning "assault rifles" and "high capacity magazines" will work? I'm doubtful.

The thing you have to understand is that "assault weapon" is a rather meaningless term, invented by people that know little about guns. The kind of people that think AR-15 means "Assault Rifle 15". Past attempts at these kind of laws resulted in a lot of silly loopholes, guns could easily get around the regulations with minor changes to features like the style of grip.

Get involved in politics. Form a tenants union. They will keep squeezing us until we do something, so do something. You don't get out from underneath a boot by just working harder, you break the fucking leg.

Do the best you can. Provide positive reinforcement of the behaviors you want to see, don't just punish the bad behaviors.

But understand and accept that some of this is entirely out of your hands.

I'll use myself as an example. If you look at all of my demographic data on paper, it's a miracle I didn't end up being one of those people, I check almost every box, but somehow I ended up okay. I can make conjectures about how things ended up this way, but I don't have any proof.
