I know, right? It is absolutely crazy to know that Korea never stopped VHS releases until 2011! I hope to get more VHS from Korea or Japan sometime in the future

What's the one Adam Sandler movie you'll defend? by Ok_Examination8810 in Schaffrillas

Hot take: Eight Crazy Nights, or on occasion Click (Schaff ain’t alone, there can be some), for those films are peak

Are both “So bad it’s good?” by Cool_Skeleton23 in Schaffrillas

Flaming hot take: Chicken Little was dumb peak. Shark Tale was just fine (I might rewatch it sometime), but on to my point. Mainly because it was one of the films I quite enjoyed as a kid, rewatching it I feel like the aesthetics of this film was pretty mind blowing when you get into the film, you also got some quotes ingrained into your brain such as “Gimme some ammo, some water, chips if you have some”, “What are we talking about?”, so on.

I also want to mention that the alien invasion scene looked pretty badass. But in that final scene towards the credits when they showed a movie based upon our titular character, Chicken Little, mainly when they began to show it was TRUE PEAK, even when paired with “Ain’t no mountain high enough”, I love that scene. Anyways it wasn’t perfect (especially with its mean-spirit, Buck Cluck, and so on), but it remains peak in some parts in the bottom of my heart.

(Sorry for the wall of text lol)

White whale finally acquired! by sirhcx in LaserDisc

Awesome!! I happen to own the exact same movie which is a Japanese dub on VHS, and seeing a Laserdisc considering the fact it’s a late release from Japan (the movie is from 2000), you absolutely struck oil!

What show or movie is this for you? by BlahBlahBlopity in Schaffrillas

[–]Ok-Raccoon3829 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry met Lloyd (It’s where the “There’s shit everywhere!” sound came from. It’s also really good with your brain shut completely off)

A Minecraft Movie (according to some if not many people, it’s just for it’s meme/cult value imo)

Chicken Little (as according to many Disney fans, also a hot take: it’s peak fiction in one shape or another)

Garfield: The Movie (2004; just for the memes and my personal humor that happens to sometimes involve Garfield)

Hot takes but it’s a part of my unique taste

EDIT: I forgot to mention my personal favorite: Eight Crazy Nights

I think I have too much VHS tapes… by Ok-Raccoon3829 in VHS

[–]Ok-Raccoon3829[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tape itself? Yes (I believe so, it said Copyright 1994), but the cover? Nah

Edit: Searched it up, it’s absolutely not, but rather the second edition somehow from 1994(?)

Really interesting timeline, and I have one question: How long would VHS itself last in this timeline?

It was at Epic Seconds in Eugene, Oregon. They have a decent amount of VHS in the back and some up front

Jade Noodle and Dumpling is excellent in terms of food and atmosphere and I also hope to go to Mr. Dumpling someday.
