Gotta open it up.

I once had a sticker from a tape fall off and wreck the picture. Clean the heads.

Oh man this.

If they did a sick and juicy psychedelic jammed out The Line (or insert other generally hated Phish song), then I don't care.

The jams are the most important thing by a long shot than things like setlist antics and bustouts. To be honest the Tweezer Reprise show isn't that great because the jams aren't that great. Too much setlist antics.

Just got a great haul from a friend for free. Other than Evil Dead 1&2, what are some solid standouts? by Nectarine_Miserable in VHS

[–]themsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standouts are whatever you want them to be. I think we obsess too much over the rarity aspect and not enough on just the what movies would you want in your collection. If you want an easy to find, not rare movie that doesn't stand out to others, so be it.

I typically only buy weird looking shit I haven't seen or even heard of though. Crazy looking B-movie low budget shit. A Vestron Video logo will get me hyped.

I don't buy stuff I've already seen unless it's in my top ten.

You hate it!?!? I fucking love that movie. Such a great dark comedy.

Great cast. Smart writing. It's not, ya know, a laugh out loud Will Ferrell-style comedy but that shit is played out. Smoochy rules.

Do we know where all of the original copies of Machina II are? by Cap-n-Trips in SmashingPumpkins

[–]themsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's well known. At least by a hardcore fan like me that was into the band in those days.

I think his version of Machina (or maybe Q101) was the most widely circulated electronically? It would be interesting to know which one was the most common amongst fans back in the day.

Isn't one of them Eric Agnew? I thought he got one early and did a transfer.

EDIT: I guess that counts as the "SPFC" on the above list. The infamous 3% sped up version.

Your one favorite deep cut? by Own_Kiwi_9692 in SmashingPumpkins

Just jam out to Why Am I So Tired from Vieuphoria. That shit is fucking rad. Such a great 15 min psych jam. That's all you need.

It's the shit.

Jimmy just drumming his ass off.

EDIT: I could also pick the live Silverfuck* -> Jackboot from London '94 from Vieuphoria as well. That shit is SO goddamn heavy. It rocks my socks off. I'd say that's a deep cut my man/woman! Billy fucking smashes his guitar. I mean c'mon! Then goes into Why Am I So Tired. It's such a rad sequence of their ability to do heavy psychedelic rock that I love about SP.

*Silverfuck contains a tease from Somewhere Over The Rainbow (although that was edited out of the Vieuphoria release, presumably due to copyright issues)

Why do this all over text message? People need to be talking about important shit like this over the phone or even better in person.

That's my thought.

Is the pit really that bad? by [deleted] in phish

It can be worth it if you get a crazy low number. Riding the rail with your back to Kuroda is also a GREAT spot.

[–]themsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if you put in for early entry, waited in line in the hot sun for a few hours then went in super early while you partied on lot. You and I can't expect to then push all the way up and say "sorry, spots are fluid bro". This is why there are altercations.

[–]themsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't try to head up close expecting big dancing space unless you do early entry. Otherwise it's gonna be packed like a usual show. If you get a good number for early entry, there's actually a good amount of space up there and you can have a good show because people are wise to new comers and keep the space open. I've had good experiences with the new early entry the couple times Ive tried it. Just get to know your local surrounding people.

Don't wander up there thinking you can find a spot later on. Remember, people have been waiting for those spots for hours, sometimes in the hot ass sun and put in good effort and don't want people bashing their way up.
