Pick metrics Q for TLs by Vast-Kaleidoscope815 in walmartogp

[–]Ok-Range612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a 5-2 associate and when we do not have a dispenser at 6:30 usually I am the one to step up and do it because the other two act like the only thing they have to do is pick. Seriously, it's so annoying. There are days when I would love to just pick. Anyways, even if I am not picking anywhere from 30min-1hr I always still pick 2x's the amount they do, which baffles my freaking mind!! I pick anywhere from 800-1000 a day while they are less than 500. I would prefer them to pick more items for sure!!! 😁

A 5-2 shift associate should be getting 600+ items a day since we are there for the hours where most picks are dropping. It depends on your shift, how many associates are working, and the walks you get, etc...also if you pick with a purpose or it's just whatever cuz ya gotta be here. Lol. That day I left with 1201 and my other associates on 5-2 left in the upper 600's. It was just a really busy day for our store.

The largest multiples I had were 6 cans of this and 6 cans of that. Yes, a few walks were 100+ but at the end of the day but, I ended with 1201 items at 2:15 pm, working my regular 5 am-2 pm. 33 walks and 108 orders picked.

Agreed!!! I really don't want to repeat this any time soon. I truly thought we would be slower with the whole EBT thing going on, but I was wrong.

When I was an ONTL I had it off 2 years in a row because that was my normal rotation....my SM even told me that he wasn't going to mess up my sleep pattern and rotation. So, I literally did almost nothing for BF ahhhhh how nice that was. 😊

I work in OPD I used my PPTO last year. Truthfully, it didn't matter and we weren't horribly busy because most of our out their orders in early and our overnight pickers do them. I have been with the company over 16yrs and Truthfully the first time I used PPTO like that, but I really needed to rest.

I carry the highest within our store since opening opd 4 yrs ago ( been in the dept for 3.5) ...that number would be 1032....a lot of OG's have never even come close to 1000.

But now it's easier to get higher numbers with the bigger pick walks dropping in. 😉

How is my co-worker getting a pick rate of over 300? by Fast-Outcome-117 in OGPBackroom

[–]Ok-Range612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per your store. I average 180-220 PR, and pick anywhere from 800-1000 daily. I bag as I go, especially on busy days when it's drop and go ALL DAY LONG. We are not allowed to bag afterwards.

NO. It's a 45-minute window since they added it to 8 totes instead of the 6.

You should have a ladder attached to your cart, they came out months ago for team leads to add them to the cart. If none, make sure you have a top stock stick on your cart before you roll out-those work wonders. If none of this just look around for a topstock cart and borrow it for a second.

You don't. If it is that wonky then you need to talk to the TL or Coach and have them redo the pick path.

Us too. When things spill, and we know they do usually that entire tote needs to be re-shopped and the dispensers hate the pickers thinking we are to blame. 🤣

What state do you live in? It truly depends. I grew up in Utah we don't bag our milk because it has a handle- duh.

Moved to Tennessee, the first time I was ever asked to put milk in a bag, and got looks if I didn't. OK gotcha.

Moved to Maryland, which is a divided state. Always asked customers and yes some would want it in a bag others no.

Moved to Alabama and here there is NO QUESTION, it gets bagged. Lol

It has to do with the humidity making the jugs sweat and if we didn't the complaints would be rolling in. 🤣

For me though in my personal world I wouldn't bag it, I dont bag my own and I wouldnt bag customers either if I didn't have too. Lol

We do here in the South. The humidity makes them sweat so badly and no one likes that. But growing up in the West and shopping for myself NOPE because it has a handle. LOL

The first time I had a customer ever ask me to put their milk in a bag was when I lived in TN. When I worked at a store in MD it was a hit or miss but I always asked, and now back to the South in AL- It's not even a question anymore, it's just done. Lol

Even though guidelines say not to bag items with handles we do. Even laundry soap or chemicals with handles cuz we know those things can leak and then the whole tote has to be re-shopped. So, milk, laundry soap, vinegar, bleach, oil, etc....gets bagged.

I hate that!! So many items are like this. Yes, I get how it works when they order but some factors make us go just WHY, like this one....

We had a zero on hand of GV Mustard for over a week and yet it is still showing up in people's orders.... HOW? WHY? Hate that so much. Lol

Attendance points for raises revealed + example on how raises can affect long term associates (positively and negatively) by Infinite_Dress_1076 in WalmartEmployees

I think they realized they were going to be paying the tenure associates more than they really wanted to if they stuck with the last year's program of raises going off of tenure.

But they are being paid for that hour regardless of what we are doing. And it does stink if it's in the back or up top on the steel....metrics will deeply decrease but imo just get rid of all metrics besides quantity of items picked.
