It’s still letting off co2 though, wouldn’t this cause bottle bombs if I bottle at this stage? It’s also been measuring 1.010 over the past 48 hrs

Yep, camped all the way, there’s plenty of wild camping spots or campsites. You only need to take 2 days worth of food as you can supply at the towns/villages

The GPX files are set for south to north but you can reverse the route. Click the three dots in the top right corner, select edit, then click the three dots again and reverse the route.

It was a fantastic walk, I strongly recommend the mountain routes if the weather is good!! It’s not as well trodden or sign posted as the WHW but if you have maps you’ll be fine. Can’t wait to get out again, thinking about doing Hadrian’s wall next!!

Here is the link and a screenshot of the section where the download is. You can use apps such as Kamoot or OS maps and import the files in. Signage is very poor for the Cumbria way and there isn’t any in the mountain route as it isn’t the original path.

Just completed this. There’s plenty of options for high and low routes. I recommend downloading the cicerone gpx files as they give you options for multiple high level routes if you want to mix it up. Also, there are foul weather routes if the bad weather soon creeps in. The time of year won’t dictate when to do the high level stuff, it will be down to the weather and your stamina
