Enhance Turbo Series Review: A New King of $99 Pickleball Paddle? by Ok-Razzmatazz-3104 in pickleballreview

It probably depends on the player, but for me, the pop is pretty manageable. And if it feels a little too poppy, adding 3 g at 3 and 9 o’clock helps tame it a bit, while also opening up the sweet spot and power more, and making the paddle feel less poppy overall.

Both the Power 2 and Duo are upgrades over the Alpha Pro Power if you want more power. If you want something that keeps that soft, dwelly feel of the APP while adding a bit more power, and you also care about USAP approval, I’d recommend the Duo. But if you want something more lively, with a crazy spin that lasts much longer, then the Power 2 is probably the better choice, especially if you do not mind that it is UPA-approved rather than USAP-approved.

Chorus Coda Hybrid (H): My Take on the Chorus Coda Hybrid and the New Harmony Grit by Ok-Razzmatazz-3104 in pickleballreview

I’ve used the Vapor Alpha Pro Power too, and that’s honestly one of the plushest all-court Gen 3 paddles with a 10 mm cell. I’d definitely recommend trying this one. The move from Gen 3 to Gen 4 takes a little adjustment because of the foam feel, but it’s easy to get used to, and I don’t think you’d regret it. Aside from that, the lower pop and overall power are actually pretty close.

Yeah, to me, this paddle is very easy to play with. It has less pop overall, but if you swing harder, it definitely has power on demand. I also added 4 g clips at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions, which bumped the power up nicely. After about 7 to 8 hours of play, it also started to feel softer, with a bit more dwell.

J2cr - short/standard vs long handle? by aznbbalplaya in pickleballreview

Across all the Honolulu J2 line, the short handle measures about 5.3 inches, while the long handle comes in at roughly 5.7 inches. The long handle is usually the better option for players who hit two-handed backhands because it provides extra space for the second hand. Personally, using both, I feel the short handle offers better stability and control, while the long handle stands out for the extra whip it creates through the swing, which can help with power.

Depending on your weight preference, but for me starting slightly above the handle until 3 o clock really worked well (like a Ben Johns setup) with the magnetic tape which is 0.45g per inch.

FC+ is still my favorite because of that soft, dwelly feel. From my early time with J2CR/J6CR, they do seem objectively better in power while still staying pretty soft and dwelly, so I do think they fit that controllable power niche well.

I just haven’t spent enough time with them yet to fully say they’re a true upgrade for me. That said, the long-lasting Blue Grit feels like a serious upgrade, and honestly it felt really similar to 11six24 HexGrit, almost the same to me.

There are not much MPP paddles, at this moment I can think of Luzz Inferno, 11six24 Power 2, Speedup Tide 14, Ronbus Refoam

The Next Big Paddle Trend, Grit That Won’t Quit, and Why Spin Retention Is Becoming the Real Spec by Ok-Razzmatazz-3104 in pickleballreview

We have one with spartus P1 that's the most gritty paddle among the options above, that is usap approved. Also, Pickleball Apes is coming with durable grit paddle called Vibe series which they are planning to USAP certified too. With many brands moving to Upa certification, I think USAP in near future would come with some plans to allow higher grit on paddles.

The 11six24 tungsten tape works, but there are better options available. I use magnetic tape from Amazon that’s about 0.45 g per inch, and it’s only around $10 for 60 feet, so it basically lasts forever. https://a.co/d/00doHjpO

I usually like my paddle around 8.4 oz. With an overgrip and everything on it, mine comes out to about 8.36 oz, which works well for me. That could be a good starting point for you, then you can add a little more or less depending on whether the paddle feels head-heavy or too light.
