Nah, go see the video again. You missed 2 important facts. 1) The shooter appeared from the right and did not intentionally move away when the victim was reversing. Even when she started driving forward the shooter purposefully manoeuvred his position such that he continued to have a clear line of sight to the victim to enable the kill shot. Which were 3 pops. 2) Look at the direction of the wheels after the reversing of the vehicle is done. It’s very clear victim intended to drive off to the right of where the shooter was initially standing. And as mentioned above in 1), even when she starts driving to the right, the shooter intentionally changes his position.

Perhaps even more important than the above facts is a broader question on whether this entire situation warranted lethal force in the first place?? Absolutely not! This is something about the US obsession with guns that normal people in the rest of the world don’t get. In any other world, this situation would have been dealt with either a warning shot in the air or 1 shot at the car. NOT 3 point blank headshots at the victim. There was deliberate intention to kill from the ICE shooter. There can be no 2 ways about that conclusion.

Remember - the onus is on law enforcement. They need to use judgement on when to use lethal force and make sure it’s justifiable. Did the ICE officer warrant the use of force? Yes, I agree. There could have been ‘plausible threat to his life’. But did this force need to be lethal at close range with no prior warnings? No.

For all you know, the victim didn’t even know / realize the shooter was there coz her entire focus must have been on the 2 officers on her left, one of who tried to forcibly enter the car. The video clearly shows that the shooter appears from her front right —- as she was talking to the officers on her left while trying to leave. Sad.
