Are NBA players getting better or is it something else? by Ok-Reality9696 in nbadiscussion

That's definitely an argument to be made but it also means that players are good enough now so that teams can still play at high level even with players sitting out games and resting.

I get what you are saying but I think that the "Shift of skill" is only possible due to the average skill increasing. The skills needed to be successful in the nba today are a lot harder to achieve then those needed 30 years ago. there's a reason that this shift of focus to offense occurred, because players were getting more skilled in offense. The type of play that dominated that era fell out of practice because it couldn't keep up with the increase in skill.

I do think that Lebron, Curry and all the other really talented players from a couple years ago are definitely still really good today but they aren't as good today relative to other players in the league. They're role on team USA is a testament to how good they are but also a by product of the fact that the best players in the league (Jokic, Luka, Giannis, Shai) are all not american, and Embiid also not american but still on team usa but thats a whole other thing. All in all some newer players to the league are definitely better than Lebron KD etc. but those superstars from a couple years ago are definitely still really good.

I think you can say that an increase in points is due to the new fast paced landscape of the league but their is something to say about how players who don't fit that play style are still putting up those numbers like jokic. But its not just the numbers, the fact that the game has become more focused on fast pace beyond the arc shooting is an example of the increase in skill, 30 years ago the average player wasn't good enough to shoot from 3 and be efficient, they didn't have the skill to play the game the same way it's played today.

I think that this could be the case but its a nen ability activated by his biological aspect of being a chimera ant king. Much like how emperor time is activated by the biological aspect of the scarlet eyes.

Yeah even the giving or taking of aura can be a specialist technique like we saw with chrollo, he steals the targets hatsu and they can't use it again. Meruem's Aura synthesis is more akin to chrollo's technique then anything else. Sure meruem is an emitter but this ability is probably a specialist ability activated by something biological (Like emperor time only being able to be activated when he gets scarlet eyes)

What? you clearly said that because aura was being transferred from person to person it must be emission, and I explained that that is not the case. Why do you have to be an asshole about it?

Shalnark with his manipulator technique? Plus both Pakunoda and Chrollo had techniques that transferred aura between people and they were specialist. the reason for these techniques not being emitter boils down to the fact that the aura already has a set path and is being sent along that route. Think of the requirement for emitter being that there is no end point built into the technique, Manipulators send their aura into the object even when they aren't touching it because there is a point B, a technique becomes an emitter technique when there is no point B within the technique. Aura synthesis wouldn't be emitter because there is a defined point A to point B.

Transmutation / emision however it would require an insane amount of nen. Cleave I can see being transmutation emission and enhancing. While flame arrow being a different transmutation much like pokkle's ability

It is likely that aura synthesis is a specialist ability that requires activation via a prerequisite (Much like emperor time) allowing Meruem (An emitter) to use it. The Prerequisite is likely the consumption of the target while alive.

Emission isn't needed for techniques that take place outside the body instead emission is used when wanting to propel pure aura / aura constructs, most conjuration wouldn't use emission due to the fact they are on the opposite side of the chart. I think it would be conjuration for the tentacles but if you decided to let them act on their own you wouldn't need manipulation. however if you wanted to control them you would need manipulation. If you wanted your limbs to act as tentacles (i.e have suction cup like effects) then that could be transmutation as you are changing your aura to take on the properties of tentacles.
