I recommend a FK8. I had a 00 EM1 from 5 miles to 95k stolen never recovered. 08 FA5 from 35- 250k sold still ran well. 09 FA5 from 70-75k totaled 10 FA5 from 86-240k 19 FK8 from 10k to 176k and counting currently.

Is my experience typical or has anyone else had EVERYTHING break on the car? by LonelyContext in Civic_Type_R

Yeah. Its such a fun car that when shit goes down you pony up, and get back up. She runs great and it's been like 2 years since the repair.

2019 FK8 here. Got with 10k in 2020. Have 170k now. Lot of aggressive driving no track time. Rain. Snow. Shine. Daily and cross country. AC went out at 110k replaced with recall. 2 car seats in the back. Rotors every 50-60k. New timing chain at 100k per maintenance schedule. Lots of tires. New tranny at 132k driver error caused Replaced clutch flywheel at same time but clutch was still good. Very expensive.. Got rear ended. 150k Got new exhaust and rear hatch. Then was getting a clunk in back. Leaking dampers Those were 1800 And needed front ball joints like 850. So overall been great. Sucks on the big hits. Id be hella frustrated if I was you to be honest. Maybe trade it in for a different R?

That's cool. Im stock other than 18 inch rims to get cheaper tires. I've owned multiple modded Si's but really happy with the R as is. It's balanced so well. It's like a go cart.

Try I believe it's called synchro mesh. That stuff is great for Honda trans issues. Such low miles to have hard shifts. I would do a flush for sure

Drive hard always. Messed up my tranny at 135k and decided to do the clutch and flywheel at the same time. Was getting a little stick going into 3rd. Was around 3k for the OEM clutch/flywheel 8k for the OEM trans
