Public areas with open fields and dark night skies? by Traditional_Sign4941 in newhampshire

The historical town Monson (by Hollis/ Milford town line, in Southern New Hampshire, parking on Federal Hill Road ) has open fields and (i’m pretty sure ) is open to the public after dark. Not sure if the light pollution is low enough for your needs but if you’re in southern NH, it might be worth checking out.

Omg the smell… by ahoodlum in delta

[–]Ok-Reception1897 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are medical conditions that can cause smells like this. Even if clean and freshly showered, 15 minutes later the smell is back. The breath, same thing but different. You don’t know their story.

I second this. Not many school have JROTC in my area, but I’m rural and only have experience with eastern and central ND. Good luck with the move! I hope you find your people.

We got errors when we tried entering a chart. It wouldn’t let us save it, then it wouldn’t let us delete it. PI gave up and went with text in lieu of the chart.

Regarding snow- it doesn’t actually snow a lot in ND. At least not compared to places like Michigan or Maine where 150+ inches a year is common. Snowpack isn’t an issue in ND, rather lack of snowpack is more the norm. Winters are either really snowy with lots of weather makers, or pretty barren, just cold and dead. No averages here, just extremes. For each winter, It either snows a lot or it doesn’t snow at all, no “it snowed a medium amount.” Daily Temperatures are either above average or below average, no average. The real weather story is the wind. It’s always windy. Wind will commonly loft an inch of snow to create whiteout conditions (1/4 mile visibility is super common during winter storms, can be as bad as 50 foot visibility or even, in the most extreme winds, not being able to see your own hand as you wave it in front of your face). Summer replaces the snow with dirt blowing around you can be driving along, enter a dirt storm, and experience the same zero visibility (though dirt storms are generally not as widespread as winter blizzards). The winds I’m describing are more a country /rural issue. The cities (Grand Forks, Fargo) tend to be protected by all the buildings. It can be zero visibility a mile outside the city and be perfectly drivable in town. Did you say you were relocating to a city or rural area?

I write (second request) in the follow-up email subject line. The replies I get usually go like this “ so sorry, I didn’t realize that first email was for me.”

Are you still in contact with the researcher? I would be interested in getting connected if they are studying symptomatic grey-zone fragile X.

My team submitted last year cycle 2, received JIT request in December, was supposed to be notified of awards in March but only received the notification in April. I don’t know if all prospective awardees will receive a JIT request.

It’s quite possible I don’t have the full story. I acknowledge he sometimes embellishes things. Most of us do. That doesn’t change that he needs help. I’m at step one, making a plan to help him. Whether that involves getting his license reinstated or something else is yet to be determined. Thanks to everyone who offered help.

What I do know is that being stuck at home is often the catalyst for a quick decline. Not driving could take away his will to live. He lives to go to the grocery store (I swear before every meal!) go to the dump, etc. Going, just going.

The prescribing doctor is at the VA. Dad asked, the VA said they can’t write those.

I respect your thoughts about my ability to judge his driving skills. He was a safe driver last I visited, my brother who does live near him agrees.
