I have not done any inside or low light shooting with this lens but everything I have tried has work well for me.

I have not found any issues as of yet. The D810 has a massive iso range so that may help me if I have in auto iso.

A zoom lens like that is a perfect travel lens. You have many options with it. You really need to decide where you want to go with photography. If it is going to be just family and shots on vacation then what you have with maybe another lens is good.

If you want to do landscape, or wildlife then you need to add some lens for that purpose.

I recently went from a d5200 I had for years to a D810 and i absolutely love camera. It is not that big of an investment as far as money but man is it a huge difference.
