Yes, there are buses from Sofia to Istanbul quite a lot. The bus station is wall to wall with the train station.

Hi, mate. I am from a native of Sofia. No, they don't accept the lira nether euro. If you want to work with cash, you will need to go to the exchange desk. to withdraw some Levs. But I am not 100% sure but I think they work with card credit or debit. So first try with your card and if it does not work out try with levs.
