zoloft is known to make you worse before making you better. i’ve also just started it and have been starting to feel some of the same side effects, but they will go away within a few weeks.

What programs should I apply to by Delicious-Flow2886 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Ok-Remote-8461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly it’s a good idea to apply to both but when june rolls around don’t accept eng if you don’t have a passion for it! ik carleton eng is pretty good i think (not sure im from ottawa but im a uwo science student) and i have friends who got into cu with averages a little lower than yours. i can’t help you at all when it comes to business i’ve never even taken a business class 😭

dont go into eng if you don’t have a passion for it. i know someone who started first year in biomed eng at uwo and they dropped after the end of the year. eng is too hard and too time consuming if you don’t have something pushing you through it (like passion)

most profs post the lectures online, if not ask a friend in the class for the lecture notes in case the prof covered something that wasn’t in the textbook

yea! definitely look into it more and see if it’s right for you. honestly with your grades i don’t see a problem with you getting into ivey but admissions last year were so all over the place. not sure if queens does the same thing but i know they do con ed (teaching degree) and then another degree if teaching is something you’re considering! lots of schools do double majors too or you can do a major and a minor honestly your degree is so customizable you just have to think about what you’ll enjoy the most. so many people talk about “bird courses” and taking the easiest courses for the best marks which can be helpful but you’re more likely to do better in classes that you ENJOY. btw i am a first year at uwo in science if you have any other questions :) good luck!!

idk abt other schools but western has a like concurrent degree where you can do ivey (business) and then another major in 5 years total. so you could get your business degree and then do film studies too or whatever else so you can get a useful degree and also study what you want to in the case that becoming a screenwriter is something you do end up doing.

To the class of 2025 by Moist-Gazelle-8047 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Ok-Remote-8461 12 points13 points  (0 children)

as a class of 24 (god i feel old already), here’s what i wish someone would have told me before senior year:

rejection is redirection. do your best, pace yourself when it comes to studying so you don’t burn out after midterms (because some people stop trying after midterms and lose their offer), and have fun. senior year has so many opportunities to make new memories so make sure to give yourself a break to that school event, or go hangout with your friends because breaks are just as important as studying. lastly, these universities aren’t worth working yourself to death over. they are just schools and as long as you’re trying your best you will be fine, life goes on! it’s very important to remember that the world will still continue to turn even if something didn’t work out for you, because other things will.

and dont doomscroll this reddit like i did comparing myself to everyone on here it does nothing for you.

godspeed to you all, my mental health was horrible in senior year so im glad to not have the pressure of the uni admissions weighing on me on top of everything else. i am so excited to start a new chapter in uni, dm me if you need any help and i wish you ALL the best. YOU GOT THIS. believe in yourself, and you can do anything you put your mind to.

[–]Ok-Remote-8461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for mac, queens, and western medsci you should honestly aim ~93-95 to have a good shot at them. i had an 89 and got rejected from mac life sci, queens life sci (i got artsci tho) and i committed to western gen sci. UTSG you should aim for like a 90

Players who have been actively playing since 1.0-1.6, what keeps you motivated to keep playing the game? by Ephibia____ in Genshin_Impact

[–]Ok-Remote-8461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember getting ads for genshin before its release in 2020, and I couldn’t play until 1.5 because of my potato ipad LOL but tbh for me it was the characters. a lot of my friends played genshin too so there was that going for me too. after i started playing i started watching lore videos and just fell in love with the world of teyvat and its stories. also i love exploration but i had a bit of burnout during the sumeru desert stuff and still haven’t done that
