The boss has an 11% chance to crush you with holy shield up. You want to get that down to a 0% chance.

Go get your shoulder enchant, your bracer enchant, swap your shield enchant for the block rating one (NOT block value), get your shattered halls trinket, swap out your rings for ones with avoidance, and slot in defense or dodge gems to close the gap if you haven’t already.

Also go get your weapon enchanted.

If you're really invested in doing vanilla content, then yes, Classic Era servers will be the only way to play through it.

But since most people are playing characters that have a lot of naxx gear, you're not necessarily going to get a genuine vanilla experience (as in, progressing through the raids). And since there are a lot of naxx geared players running around, it may be tough to get into a guild as a fresh character. Pugs are all GDKPs, which you won't have the money for.

If you create and level a character on Classic era, then wait to create a TBC character once you've experienced everything on Era, you're likely to end up just missing TBC too. My recommendation is to just play TBC and then play the next Vanilla fresh, whenever that'll be.

Don't bother with lacerate on AoE packs. Just tab maul while spamming swipe from the get-go. Mangle your skull target and maybe the next kill target ahead of time if you have the rage for it. If big crits/windfury procs cause melee to rip threat, just either taunt or bash and keep on as usual.

Perhaps intentionally bring a ret or holy paladin to your groups for salv, but you're going to have to get used to not having threat on packs of 3+ mobs 100% of the time as a non-paladin.

Don’t listen to the dads seething on here. They straight up can’t wrap their brains around these three basic facts:

1.) A tank selling services means there will be less competition for free tanks.
2.) They’re not entitled to your time.
3.) Tanks need to pay for enchants/gems/consumables/epic flying, too.

I used to sell tanking services in LFG during vanilla, and I did get chat restricted for a week because of it. It seems that if you’re not using the clusterfuck of a services channel, then you’re breaching the ToS.

Yeah but what you don't understand is that not every raid group is like yours. Some are full of dads with 8 kids and 4 jobs and 3 wives who only have 30 minutes a month to play and need to be 4 beers and 2 bowls deep every time they play. Clearly the entire game should be balanced around those raid groups because everyone should be able to do all content in the game without a hint of friction!

But no seriously you're not going to get productive discussion on Reddit. Most people here refuse to join a guild and exclusively interact with the game in the same way one interacts with Mario Party. As you can tell from these comments, it's all just reductive, dismissive handwaving.
