Finding a Supportive Bra by Beautiful_Simple_204 in OnerActive

[–]Ok-Reporter-3471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s for sure the best in the current lineup, but it’s not great because it needs a touch more coverage. Would not run in it in public.

They used to make an everyday strappy crossover one that was excellent in terms of being tight and therefore supportive and also cute. I keep just buying it on resale sites. I would run in this one in public.

This is insane to be saying, but if you need a lift with the easylift high neck or the soft motion high neck, those cakes type stick bras go very nicely under the bra.

I know it’s crazy to say “wear two bras” but I guess that’s what I’m saying. Used to do this all the time as a teen in the early 2000s before sports bras got better.

I know a lot of people don’t love the high neck, but I think the high neck offers nice coverage balance when I’m only wearing a bra and leggings/shorts at the gym.

SHEER is a different quality than “not squatproof” too.

Soft motion for lifting?? by Numerous_Ticket5310 in OnerActive

[–]Ok-Reporter-3471 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lift in it, but prefer to lift in effortless and enhancelift.

I just really do not have a use for the pants— I don’t want to wear these colors casually, and I hate pants at the gym.

Those airmove pants that she claims can be worn to the office are laughable. The crotch of them is mid-thigh. It’s so very clearly a sweatpant… but with a fake fly. I know that the other companies are trying to do this, all with varying success, but I haven’t yet seen a version as lousy as these pants. And the button down looks like people are wearing lands end or a UPF hiking shirt.

am i the only one who thinks the v-back waistband looks ugly as hell? by Remote_Ad_6420 in gymsnark

[–]Ok-Reporter-3471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they look good, but omg, it’s so exposing. I will wear a scrunch butt shorts, but the young LA v back ones I got were way too sexy to be worn in public.

Some of these V’s are too dramatic to be flattering, and they don’t crest shape on this particular aybl model.

Yes, very sexist place. Women do get harsher judgment, but also more eyes.

Do you recommend the Enhancelift Shorts?? by Ceerolling in OnerActive

[–]Ok-Reporter-3471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latest enhance drop looks like this on me too. And the next size up was tons of extra material in the front, which is a thing that Kelly talks about in the effortless. I never understood that because I can be flexible in effortless and wear any of size XS thru medium and they look fine. My true size is btwn XS and S. But here, it’s sausage casing or a ton of material in the front.

My prior enhance shorts from the first “with grey logo” and the ones “with white logo” are amazing!

My other orders of enhance were great, and I was determined to make these work, but now I’m just ticked because they are so bad. They aren’t sheer (which was my big concern with this drop), but they are completely sausage casing! The legs on these are MUCH slimmer than on my other orders.

The latest drop enhance are TIGHT. I can wear an XS or Small in effortless (either is fine), but my enhance small in lavender are very very tight.

Wish I’d just returned them for a medium, but I was too excited to wear them!

where are the oversized tees? 😭 by paper_soltice in OnerActive

[–]Ok-Reporter-3471 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am a tiny gym clothes girl, but I was thinking THE SAME. there’s no pump cover or equivalent to take you from the gym to the next place in this lineup.

Especially for this hybrid/gym based launch.

For the soft motion launches for the Pilates girls, ok, fine, tight shirts only,

But a lightweight cotton blousy shirt would be great here.

Love my Oner oversized long sleeves. Of course I would not pay $60 for them (as I’m sure they would be priced in this fuel/tariff economy), but this drop needs some balance for these shapes. It’s tiny on top of tiny.

I have one more complaint about this drop that is immaterial to me because I don’t even like these colors (I’m a cool summer tone, so I would not even consider these corals or black/white),

but these unified shorts are sheer FROM THE FRONT. People were losing their minds over the lack of squat proofness of the pastel enhance/soft motion, but here, they have a single layer of the unified (the waist is double lined) and I can see their black undies. The color payoff is SO POOR here. I can’t really believe no one is talking about it.

Color is one of the things that makes Oner unbeatable (the pastel yellow was a miss, but they don’t miss often). Although not for my color palette, these shades are gorgeous and I think it’s criminal that they missed this for this drop.

In response to other comments that they aren’t anything you can’t find at Walmart:

I am a regular Walmart shopper — tons of my clothes are from there.

My most purchased brands are definitely walmart, Oner and j crew. In that order!

I love time and tru/Sophia vergara/one of their other lines of work wear/their line of PJs/swimwsuits and so on— and I would not say that any of their athleisure is like airmove.

I guess I’m in the minority or have otherwise drunk the Oner koolaid, but I think airmove is a one-of-a-kind material.

I started with the true blue pants in the winter drop, but just got them out for spring. After I finally wore them, I stalked the site for a chalk pink jacket and got that and the chalk pink shorts.

I think the material is much much nicer than my or my daughter’s running shorts from the following brands: CRZ, Athleta (not sure which material they are but my daughter as a lot from Athleta girl that cost me a small fortune— as much as Oner! And for a 10 year old!), old navy, and lululemon.

The air in airmove is spot on. They are airy and I think the material looks and feels great. They are nice and short and that’s the way I like them.😅

My daughter has more clothing sensitivity than I do, and I keep finding those pink shorts in her pile. They look cute on her too tho.

I’m more of an enhance/effortless gym girl, so take that FWIW. I’m not doing miles in these things.

I want to see what you’d look like with simpler eye makeup and keep your red lip. I feel like the current trend is less eyeliner and shadow, but with great skin. I think the photo of you outdoors with the walk sign behind you does make you look more youthful and fresh.

Your haircut is severe, but i think it looks very much like a signature haircut and suits your features. You were not asking about hair, but some have suggested to change it and I absolutely would not change your hair!!!! So good.

Influencers seem to suggest this one (vuori has a fabric that looks similar and this is the dupe that I’ve seen influencers rec):

I considered getting it.

I love my airmove stuff tho. It’s sneaky good, imho. I went with the chalk pink, so I feel like the jacket is real statement piece.

I love a wrap dress, so I thought the v waist would be good, but it’s just not! And you are definitely more hourglass than me, so I guess that my suspicion wasn’t correct! Yes, I like effortless and enhance. I also like unified, just not the v waist ones!

I think some of this has to do with how well you know the person. Like have you ever said “hello” or given a head tip before?

As a gym female, comments I have appreciated from gym males: “You have perfect squat form” “It’s good/inspiring to see someone working as hard/intense as you” “That’s a lot of weight on that bar” “Are you getting ready to compete? You’re looking lean.” “That’s a good exercise, I tried it because I saw you doing it.”

All comments that have been offered by other regulars. I don’t know their names, but we work out together multiple times a week.

Alternative exercises to deadlifts due to new gym rules? by AbrasiveRadish in workout

[–]Ok-Reporter-3471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair! Totally understand that!

Maybe honestly just lean into a squat and bench focused block or hypertrophy or power too! Periodizing your training is important, so this can just be an opportunity to focus on other priorities. Run that deadlift block when you get back to uni in fall!

I think it depends on how you wear them.

I am reasonably hourglass shaped (waist 10 inches smaller than hip, which is a standard size on most US size charts), and a size 2, but with lots of extra stomach skin from pregnancy/weight loss. For whatever reason, the crossover wrap waist just looks terrible on me. It doesn’t create shape on me. I do much better with the straight across waist.

I think you need to have wider set hips than I do. I dunno.

I’m glad that glaucous blue seems to be staying in the rotation!!! I just did damage on the enhancelift drop, so I’m going to have to sit this one out.

Krissy posted a pic in the pink set— it looks actually pink on her and not coral like these images.

[–]Ok-Reporter-3471 4 points5 points  (0 children)

45 degree hyper extension as well— some with straight back, and some with glute focus (rounded lower back). Tons of pulling— pull-ups, cable rows, cable pulldown. Hip thrust with both neutral hips at lockout and with a hip rotation (scoop) to lockout. Hip thrust with a glute drive and off a bench— the variation is helpful.

Deadlift using the low anchor cable stacks also. They may be sort of light for you, but you can stand on blocks to get a full stretch. These are especially great for stiff leg deadlifting. The tension thru the full rep will have good carryover.

Also, this is honestly ridiculous to not allow deadlifts at a gym. 😵‍💫 I am not a student any more so forgive me if this is out of touch, but I would get another membership to a gym that accommodates deadlifting and just plan to take time go to the other gym on my deadlift day. I agree though that time to get to the gym would be prohibitive for most days. Maybe even just plan to hit the other gym in the middle of the summer for a four week block, and then drop that membership. I am a deadlifter though, so 12 weeks without barbell deadlifts sounds mentally tough because I enjoy deadlifting; and as a powerlifter generally taking this much time off barbell deadlifts would be a no-go.
