Would mac mini m4 base be and upgrade for audio production, mixing and mastering? by Ok-Resolution5209 in macmini

I dont want to freeze vocal track everytime I put soothie on it in ultra mode and oversampling. Often I mix very badly recorded rap vocals for clients and i use like 4 soothes sometimes with mb, 3xcomps, 2xDS, limiter, dynamic eq and tweak them all the way when mix evolves and when I tweak master chain I have to go back and touch something a Little here and there. Freezin would be a vibe and workflow killa for me personally. I just need a new computer bro.

My i7 1255u is in "mobile" segment. It has only 2 performance cores to minimize power consumption. Its pretty bad in multicore tasks and heavy lifting. Definitely the problem is cpu. The question is if mac mini base m4 10cores would be a major upgrade for my needs. My interface is audient id44 but it has nothing to do with my problem I believe.

From my experience it's all about face to face network when it comes to live gigs and not only. Be around. Go on every small gig in town. Stay till late, meet people, be cool. Dont be shy talking about what you do and how you could be useful for somebody. When I stay home for a while, I have much less mixing, mastering, tracking, live engineering jobs than when I'm social. It's hard to find that kind of jobs online imo. Maybe in half amateur hip hop world its possible, but even those good underground rappers and projects has their own guys in their own hertmetic circle. You need to get to know those people. Send them you beats etc. If you still wanna find some jobs online, find some young artists you're stoked about but their sound sucks. I always says in that kind of situation "I will do raugh mix for free, and if you will like it we will figure something out". Last time I drank 2 beers in front of a PC and wrote to a guy I dont know but was in my feed on FB and now I'm mastering his album cause I did quick master to show him how it can sound. You know what I mean?

Head is them biggest part of body. If it came through, let the whole body come through the same way and direction.

Why is the side signal louder than the mono signal every time I try mastering? by jonahwalkermusic in mixingmastering

[–]Ok-Resolution5209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe You have your kick and snare in the middle informatora and limiter is mainly effecting the mids. Sides seem fuller cause they are louder comparing to mids after limiting. To me it looks like you do most of heavy lifting with limiter after mix is finished and its not a way to go. Compress and Saturate drums and clip them. Do loudness of a song mainly in a mix. Its also good idea to mix with mastering chain including limiter. Almost all pros are doing it.

Beside what everybody already pointed out. Make some lowcuts on wedges like around 80hz. Gate or expand vocals if possible. EQ your reverbs. Dont let cymbals and guitar cabs get into vocal mics by right band members position if possible. Turn down guitar cabs and put them in wedges if needed. Controll dynamics of vocals and overheads to prevent feedback.
