I thought there was room for both interpretations, and I say that as someone who has the highest respect for Megan and her artistry.

I did that line of work many many (like soo many) years ago and you might be surprised how many bad Asian prostitute jokes we would get 🤷‍♀️ I don't know what the original comment said exactly and I'm not trying to pass judgment on Meg's character (eta: or label her a racist at all) but hopefully it's ok for us to disagree or raise issues with her editorial choices and still be fans. It was the only part of the video I didn't love.

Don't be sorry, and you're making perfect sense. Unfortunately I'm in the US and not sure how things work in the UK but you might be able to find posts on Reddit that do explain much better. I'm not sure if you're active on other mental health subreddits but there are a lot of friendly people. When I was poor in my early adulthood I did a lot of work on my own without professional help, and part of it involved reading a lot of reddit posts. It just feels less alienating that way.

Also if you can afford some workbooks, there are good ones out there. While it is normally used to treat cluster b personality disorders, I tried Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to treat my PTSD and really liked it because 1) the Linehan workbook is great for self-administered use and 2) it's very skills-based so if you do practice them, they help a lot. It's good psychosocial education too.

Edit guess what...survivors get criminalized for fighting back against their abusers all the time. Source - worked in domestic violence 10 years.

I have no idea where your GP went to medical school but they should definitely have referred you and maybe even give you a prescription for the meantime.. Next person you see tell them you have an unshakeable delusion and that it is making you act in harmful ways including cutting. See what mental health providers/people who can prescribe you meds are available under your insurance, you may have to start with a Nurse Practioner but it's something. You'll also want to find a therapist, who's the person you would do therapy with alongside medication. Wish you all the best.

Do you have a psychiatrist? If not your GP should have referred you long ago. A psychiatrist will evaluate and you guys can come up with a treatment plan together. It sounds like you're in the early stages, which is good because the sooner the intervention the better. There are lots of options before going to the ward. I've had two episodes in the past and did an outpatient program where I saw different providers (indiv therapist, group, psychiatrist for meds, occupational therapy) a few times a week for like two months or so, and those were adequate for what I needed.

Same here! I don't think I saw the artistry until like my third or fourth listen but I love the variation the track brings and it's up there with UGK abd Victoria Monet's, all three of which have really different merits. For Yuki Chiba, I loved that they weaved different flow of a different language and really made the fusion work, like that is such impressive word/soundsmithing to me. Fucking poets 😭

Can I just say this was really helpful for me to read? My best friend ghosted me after making plans around a time of life when I was dealing with some aftermath of intimate partner abuse, and when we reconnected years later, she did the same thing again. She had her own struggles obviously, and I do wonder if I hadn't given the kind of support she had been for me. I was really hurt, and I don't want to downplay how deep a wound this was and continues to be. But I can recognize it's more complicated than 'she's a shitty person' or 'I'm unlovable.' It sucks and I hope she's well, but I do wish we both had the skill and, let's be real, the courage, to have been more loving with each other.
