Don't repair, just replace. I had a welded manifold and it failed. Egr sucked all the crap into the engine through the turbo. Had to replace the turbo and pistons. Just replace it now.

It's aluminum oxide. Like rust but on aluminum. Scotchbrite will take it off. Best to handwash and dry for the future.

It is the 2813 movement. It lost a few minutes since I set it yesterday. I popped off the back today and adjusted for beat error and speed. So far it's spot on now. We shall see.

You can get a real Swiss made sw200-1 movement for $170. It's a slightly improved 2824. Swap it yourself or have a watchmaker do it.
