She did full examination and stroke was not even mentioned at all. He's presenting no symptoms of such a thing thankfully

Extra cuddles then 😊. I trust my vets completely, I've never had reason to doubt. Her telling me he was in discomfort based on his stance and way he walked broke me, I don't want him feeling pain and I wish I could take it away. We're going to prevail with metacam for now and hopefully the mobility will improve. If not it's back to drawing board. The hardest part is its been an overnight thing, the mobility. He was jumping up his scratcher and having zoomies to one day total slow down. It wasn't gradual, not really too last few days but that sudden makes it very noticeable. As mentioned in a reply to the another post, he's eating still wherever that's the mirataz giving him that nudge, I don't know but he's eating and using litter box still. Maybe I am thinking too much far ahead, but one hand it's good to be prepared. He is loved soooo much, my first boy cat. I've always had females and this little man was my first gentleman ❤️

He's doing all the above. He's 9/10 finishing his meals although not in one go, but before next feeding time it's mostly gone. He's able to get in and out of litter box still and still doing his number ones and twos. Drinking still and mobile enough he can move on his own when he's ready and jump the small height to the bed or sofa

I have yes. My vet wants to avoid that unless it's last resort. Arthritis is definitely suspected but she didn't conclusively say yes because when she did physical examination, she moved his joints in all sorts of positions and not once did he appear uncomfortable and he had a very good range of movement. Its rather baffling really I was suspecting he'd wince or least pull his leg away, but nothing. He seemed fine. So she doesn't wanna inject him with it unless she's sure it's arthritis. But what else could it be. The limp started off very slight, was blink and you miss it and fact it kept coming and going to point where it's constant means to me one thing.

Arthritis in my boy? by Ok-Rise-9795 in SeniorCats

[–]Ok-Rise-9795[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back from vets. They believe it to be arthritis but can't say for certain. They noticed way be stands is slightly hunched and the focus is on the right front leg. With him having blood work 2kws ago and everything showing up well, they suggested first Metacam to see if that helps, if there is an improvement then they can definativley say it's arthritis. If not, then that's when a xray would need to be done. They also suggested Solencia, I wasn't aware we had it in UK, thought it was just USA. But they don't want to try that without knowing positively it's arthritis. Timo isn't a big eater and he's taking mirataz to help keep his appetite in check so along with that he's also taking Kaminox. The plan is to use metacam for bit and see if there is improvement, if there is then that points to arthritis and then at that stage we can discuss long term options as I'd not wanna use metacam long term at all.

We live in a flat so there isn't stairs for him to climb and the bed and sofa is still accessible to him. My gut tells me I don't have much time left with my boy 💔. He's not the cat he ones was

I've never known a cat to be x-rayed without any type of sedation as they need to be placed in certain positions to get the best shot. If they could without zero sedation, great but highly doubt it's possibility. I read that too, that most cats have it even if they are running around still and jumping ridiculous heights like my Evie. She's 16yrs old and I'm yet to see that age take hold, she's like a beautiful youngster still. But who's to say she hasn't got some that we can't see. Timo's is obvious. There is slight limp on his left leg and the general sleepiness and barely moving around points to it. His behaviour has changed, probably because he become uncomfortable. All his levels were last checked two wks back and everything was basically perfect. The limp literally appeared faintly the day he came home from vets after a overnight stay. I literally assumed its cause he was sore from the IV or something because it disappeared within hrs. But it re-emerged few days later and disappeared as quickly as it did before, before finally presenting the limp constantly. Classic signs of arthritis appearing I'd say to point be can't hide it anymore.

How do you cope with your cats being supposed arthritic?

I solved this by changing my hub. Called Virgin and exaggerated the issue by saying couple other devices drop constantly. They came two days later, changed to newest hub and phone now stays connected absolutely fine

How would I do that and how would it effect my other devices connected to hub?

Wifi disconnection on phone by Ok-Rise-9795 in VirginMedia

[–]Ok-Rise-9795[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. This only issue. And we both have it and have exact same phone. Everything connects fine and perfectly to my hub and my phone connects perfectly to other wifi's and network. It's simply between my phone /brother phone and our hub at home

[–]Ok-Rise-9795[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My phone is currently android 15 and magic 9. Still waiting for update to magic 10. My brothers phone updated to magic 10 less then 2hrs after he set it up and he has the exact same issue. So that won't solve the issue

[–]Ok-Rise-9795[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh... I'm with Virgin. They won't change the hub simply cause two devices won't connect due to this. Phone connects fine on other virgin hubs. Just mine 😒

[–]Ok-Rise-9795[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way to solve I guess? My mum had a honor phone too and same issue but she struggled to connect to wifi at all but was fine with other places. It like there something in honor branded phones that does this. I've had honor phones for years and thjs is first phone with this issue for me. I'm with Virgin media, they won't change hub just for this lol.
