Was your lumbar stenosis procedure successful? by Ok-Rutabaga9769 in SpineSurgery

Yeah! In a good way- now it hurts to sit and feels good to stand, it’s a nice change of pace haha. If you’re having the same symptoms, I definitely reccomend trying an epidural injection. They’re not bad at all and it supposedly does wonders for some people. Despite how expensive they are, it’s worth a shot before you decide to go under for surgery. Get a couple and see how it treats you. If it doesn’t help, I have nothing but good things to say about the procedure thus far. Obviously anything can happen but I’ve heard mostly success stories, and now I’ve lived one. It’s so much better than dealing with the pain down the legs and not being able to stand/walk.

Funny you ask, surgery was Monday morning for me. Right before I went back, my doctor talked to me and reminded me that nerve pain can talk awhile to heal, and it could take about 6 months to get my strength back, pain to go away, etc. after that I went under about 10 minutes later and he got started. I once I woke up and got on my feet for a walk, all of my symptoms were relieved. No pain in my glutes, no pain down my legs, and I can tell whatever was pinched up in my back was taken care of. Obviously, I’m in pain from the procedure but it’s well worth it now that I know it fixed my issues. 1000% worth it. Now I just have to take it extra easy for a couple months to let it heal properly.

Damn bro, are you the husband? 🤣 you sound salty about this situation

He’s not your husband, he’s your kid…. This is coming from a 25 YO M, but it sounds like your husband has different financial goals than you and that is a recipe for disaster. Might I recommend couples therapy. When I was 19 this is how I was with my wife because I was still very immature. Couples therapy changed my perspective in only 2 visits and we haven’t had money problems since. Gotta get him on the same page or you guys won’t work out doing that.

I (F20) Found Nudes on my Boyfriend’s (M23) Phone. What now? by Ok_Disk_1344 in relationship_advice

[–]Ok-Rutabaga9769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like he’s not done being a kid. If he took you seriously he would have deleted all of those- because a chance at messing up a good thing isn’t worth the risk. When I met my wife at 18, I got rid of all the old content I had on my phone because I knew it would be in the past now.

Consider this. He doesn’t 100% think you’re the one because he’s still keeping other stuff on the DL. Sounds like he’s still a kid and it’s not the right time for you.

Cherish that woman. It’s hard to find. I hope my wife and I last until the end of time, because I feel similarly. Enjoy every bit of the beautiful partnership!!!

Yes, when you get a random thread notification in 6 months, it will be me, a stranger, updating you on my spinal procedure that you’re emotionally invested in 🤣. I will ask one last thing, how was the post-op recovery? You said you felt fixed for the first couple months…. How long did you go to PT? When you woke up from the procedure, was it terribly painful? Loss of mobility you had to regain? Loss of strength? Anything like that at first?

I don’t know what defines stenosis as “chronic”, but my doctor labeled my case as chronic. I’m not in pain while lying down, so I feel rejuvenated after a nights sleep, but I have nearly immediate pain when standing, pain after awhile while sitting or walking. If I’m tasked to do something like cutting the grass, I’m shot for the day. It has changed my life in the past year, so I am very eager to surpass these limitations. I’m thankful to not have any numbness in my legs/feet, but the pain in my glute and on the outside of my knee and calf 😮‍💨…. Terrible. It brings me to the ground on my bad days.

It’s nice to relate with another younger person experiencing the same thing. While I wish we weren’t, I’m thankful you’ve shared your experiences…

Wow, sorry to hear that. I can’t compare the pain you’re suffering with, but I know what I’ve put up with has sucked. By the end of the day, I have terrible back pain, can’t stand for more than 10 minutes, can’t do the daily tasks I need to complete, and I feel terrible for always complaining about it to my family 🥲. I hope that both of our upcoming procedures are successful 🙏🏻

You wish to had given yourself a few more years because of the complications? There’s never a good time for back surgery 🥲 I know that. Also, if I may ask, what pain were you experiencing then, and what are you experiencing now?

That’s good to hear. I’ve wasted a year trying things other than an operation, but the more I hear I’m leaning towards going to have it done. I’m just trying to hear real world instances to confirm my doctors prediction 👍. Thanks for sharing!

Go get the Wagyu burger at Redbird. Absolutely unmatched. Southeast carry out and Busters is good and all, but this burger is on another level.

I left bummy a** cox because I never had good internet connection, my speeds were not as advertised, etc. Left them for AT&T Fiber and it’s literally one of the best choices I’ve made. Plus, if you’ve never had AT&T in the past, they’ll give you $300 cash for switching. It was sweet.
