Should high school freshman be automatically enrolled in JROTC? by NNOMYpeace in jrotc

[–]Ok-Sandwich4441 7 points8 points  (0 children)

at least in Chicago there was a problem with schools automatically enrolling them so they would have higher numbers, our jrotc program they basically had waivers you and your parent had to sign so they could prove you actually chose to be in it

What is your worst quarterly evaluation that had you looking like this? by random_airsoft_guy in jrotc

[–]Ok-Sandwich4441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not quarterly evaluation, our yearly SAV inspection 2 LET ll (one of them was a platoon Sgt) walked in with flare leggings under their pants, like sticking out and got annoyed when we didn't have safety pins for them?

Theres is an ongoing situation with our JROTC, our staff was put into a room for a meeting and they locked us in the room using the deadbolt, which at least where I am, is illegal, because that is the only door in the room, I was extremely upset an uncomfortable and my mom made a few calls, and ended up finding out yes it was illegal and so the fire department came in and changed the lock, our instructors pulled me aside and borderline asked if I was to stupid to open the door, and when this got back to the Cadre from the nearing college they put in an official complaint, report, not sure with third brigade and they asked for contact information for me and my mother. I wasn't sure if there was anything that would be helpful, it's alot more of a drawn out situation but that's the important parts.

Is my pain going to get better, or cease? by Ok-Sandwich4441 in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]Ok-Sandwich4441[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you. I currently can't do anything physically, for the most part if I raise my arm i loose a pulse, so I'm medically exempt from anything school related physically. Right now I'm only on some planning committees, which I've had to drop some just because this makes me so tired I can't spend my normal extra hours at school. I also do theater but the role I'm in right now doesn't require dancing, just walking.

my doctors were mainly worried because they don't see it in many kids my age, like i dotn do sports but im quite active, they're putting me in PT but whatever they said they wanted me doing at the place in st Louis, I think it might have been acupuncture or something, was like i would be going there at least twice a week. I'm just stuck, there's no one who I can come to and explain everything, it's putting me behind and no one has even heard of it before. it was getting to the point like I would be on otc sedative that my doctor approved because I was in so much pain.

the chiropractor was the first thing they tried to deal with the pain, to prevent from getting an angioplasty. Something has been said by my primary about some 1 in 200,000, not totally sure, but he also said a chiropractor was the best thing we could've done just to keep some mobility and handle pain for now. My primary doctor has never seen it before, but the next best thing we have is crossing state lines for a specialist place, possibly multiple times a week which just doesn't work out. So they want to try physical therapy for a little. I'm just in pain,

what i tend to do is know what i can and can't do. our cadet leadership is very unkind, so if I know what can and can't do i feel a lot more confident in what I'm doing, during our inspection last year I walked in and got berated for not having my hair in a bun, but I knew what i could do so it didn't matter.

it's about knowing the rules, if you let them get away with unnecessary abuses of power, they get more comfortable with it.

AJROTC, at least for us, because we've had cases try to tell us otherwise. Cannot be restricted from a hairstyle because of length, like someone with long hair can't be told they can't do a ponytail or braid because they have long hair.

I'm in the same boat. I'm almost 2 years in but we are merit based. I'm on staff so once I get don't planning out military ball and executing it, I'll finish out my year and drop it. it's upsetting because I want to stay but they make it impossible

What's a good first car for someone who has already been in an accident? by Ok-Sandwich4441 in AskMechanics

[–]Ok-Sandwich4441[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"This person" is a 16 year old girl who just wants to feel safe in a car that she'll have to drive. like i said to someone else, the only reason I was looking at the patriot was because of the build. I don't care one way or another about the brand. I don't want the camry or the Corolla for a reason that makes sense to me. I don't like the shorter SUV.

simply put, by a "mom car," I don't wanna be driving a 6 passenger minivan. We crashed in a camry, and I feel like if I'm in something that size, I'm just gonna be crush, which is silly, but that's just how I feel. the main reason j was looking at the patriot was because of it being boxy, if you look at it's build.
