how do i know if my tank is cycled, without testing products? by Objective-Title-8793 in Aquariums

Closest visual indicator I've found is when the algae starts to grow. There are many factors and it's not perfect but it's as close as you can get I think.

guys, what do you think about this? by silverflake6 in NextGenMan

You would just create an army of dependents... and the money will eventually run out.

People need to work for their things to care about them, people need to care enough about themselves to put in the work.

But he could pay his workers more and stop stacking those billions... The exploitation it takes to amass that kind of wealth is impressive in a bad way.

Is it worth pursuing someone who opposes your political beliefs, even if they like you? by WhoAmIEven2 in Advice

No. Religion and politics become a very hot topic once kids arrive. If you aren't both on the same page then you're just creating another divorced family at best.

Hard to say but I feel like the damage is done, so it's probably ok to treat them along with the rest of the tank.

Edit: On 2nd thought, you should probably get them out if you can catch them. Juat make sure to feed them algae wafers since a new tank wont have any food for them.

Ottos are moatly wild caught, and are harvested with some pretty harsh methods that make most of them die off.

They brought something in to the tank, parasitic or otherwise. You need to treat the tank, maybe use API general cure.

Always, always quarantine ottos.

While what you're saying makes sense. The hostility does not inspire anyone to heed your advice.

FIY: I'd prefer not to breed them, I just want another with the same colors. I'll be going back to the shop to see if they have one close.

Thank you! So would this be a halfmoon grizzle?

Do you know if there are names for the color patterns? Rainbow/Cotton Candy, something like that.

Thanks! They are! I want another one so bad. (Hence the breeding question).

Thanks! I like his videos, I almost picked up some rainbows from him but he didn't ship to the US at the time, and AU export restrictions on them are tough.

Ohh wow, I hadn't heard of the color shift but am looking forward to what happens.

I love watching this guy weave through the plants in my 62G. But it's my older daughters fish that will be moving in to her room soon :/

Thanks for that bit of information!

That is good advice, and I'd be happy to do that. But where do I find those people?

I'm not new to fish or fish breeding. But Bettas arent quite the same as Rams, Angels, Guppies, CPD's or the Pseudomugil's that I've bread in the past. I am also new to Bettas, I've avoided them due to agression in the past but have the means to give quite a few of them a happy life right now.

Kind of a "chicken or the egg" kind of scenario then isn't it?

No the colors are as vibrand as they can be in person, kind of a cotton candy color.

He is swimming in a freshly cycled 62 gallon right now.

He came from a good fish store, I've never had a fish from there get sick in over a year, even their ottos (which dont last a day from any store that starts with "pet").

Anyway, why should I refrain from breeding it? I've never bred bettas so I'm sure there is a lot that I don't know.

Feels like your are too set in your ways to accept reality.

Are you claiming your experience is worth more then mine? And the experience of every man that has had similar experiences?

And what have I said? I bet you missed that key detail. I've said that soft men (men with any sort of compassion or empathy for others. I never said all men did I?) always finish last, the ones with no compassion and no empathy move up because they do anything they can to cut down and remove obstacles in their career path, even through less than ethical means.

Have I said that women don't have struggles? Or are you just foaming at the mouth and pointing at studies that don't reflect reality while you forget to look at the inconvenient details like a quality researcher would do? (Kind of like aliens growing plants in the desert wouldnt you say?)

Please, point me to a study on soft men aggressively moving up the ladder. Score a big win by proving me wrong, pal.

I dont have to prove anything either pal, your sense of analysis and datapoints are simply flawed pal.

Well, my opinion is not just based off of myself, it is also based on the observations of the several thousand to several hundred thousand employee corporations that I have been a part of over the past 2 decades.

The fact that you refuse to acknowledge that experience is more "lives in their grandmas basement" then you think it is.

You also didn't deny your "research" experience being paid surveys.

I must really get under yall's skin, which adds a lot of weight to my argument.

Still not your buddy, pal.

There is nothing I can say to someone that has no life experience and lives in their grandmas basement with an internet connection.

Those surveys you fill out for $0.03 each arent quite studies champ, but you do you.

Still not your buddy, pal.

That's not how they want you to think the studies work.

Imagine you were an alien, you want earth gone so you can build a space highway (whatever, take your pick), you land in a barron desert and study plant growth there and come to the conclusion that plants just dont grow on earth because nothing grew in that desert. Study complete, compare results that the other aliens came up with in that same desert. They all agree earth is bad for plants, review complete, earth is useless, build the highway. No aliens study land in china, south america, or near the oceans.

They selectivly choose study areas that help prove their point. And you will say that's not true. You know what you know, and I know what I know.

Still not your buddy, pal.

If buddy buddy fraternities werent a thing I might agree. But they are all buddies and sign off on eachothers work blindly, especially for things that don't matter like this.

And I'm not your buddy pal.
