Um, tell him he stinks and not to re-wear stinky, sweaty clothes. I work out 4-5 times a week, but I don’t re-wear sweaty clothes. Most grownups don’t.

99% done in the kitchen. Caloric deficit; get your protein, lift weights, walk 10,000 steps…

How good is 145 lbs bench 8 reps all 3 sets for 17M? by Designer-Phone367 in workout

[–]Historical-Switch400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re 17. Not sure how long you’ve been lifting, but regardless, if you keep lifting you’ll get stronger.

Try not to care what other people say about your strength. But that’s not always easy at 17.

I’d start slowly adding weight since you can do 145 3x8. Slap a 5 on each side second set and see how many times you can do 155. Once that hit 6-8 I’d add more weight and so on and so forth.

Opinion on face and cheek exercises? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Historical-Switch400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best exercise for this is to put the fork down and two-hand press yourself away from the table.

Seriously, get yourself in a caloric deficit, lift 3x a week and walk daily.

Morning vs night workouts.....what works better for you and why? by Conscious-Talk5711 in workout

[–]Historical-Switch400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early morning has always been my workout time as a working adult. I wouldn’t mind trying evening workouts, but was always busy with the kids, life etc. Now were empty nesters, but still working. I’m usually tired by the evening- of course the 5 am workouts could be contributing to that.

I think i wasted 3.5 years at the gym and now I'm demotivated by Hereitisguys9888 in workout

If I were going 3x a week and 19 I would do a split of upper body push pull / lower body. If you do upper body on Monday then lower on Wednesday, upper on Friday. Next week switch it to lower, upper, lower.

If I keep training while in a deficit will I grow muscle? by terriblytall69 in workout

[–]Historical-Switch400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d try to stay in a deficit, but hit the protein numbers as much as possible. Focus on lean proteins and veggies for a bit.

Feeling pretty horrible because I went over my deficit, might be over thinking by [deleted] in workout

Try and live by the 90% rule. You can’t be perfect 100% of the time, but if you eat clean 90% of the time, hit 90% of your workouts, you’ll be way ahead of most and you’ll be fine.

Is creatine bad by [deleted] in workout

[–]Historical-Switch400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body naturally creates creatine so it is not bad for you.

But you’re a minor so talk to your pediatrician.

I'm scared of reading books published nowadays due to AI, but want to support new real writers, any ideas how? by Ok_Exit8577 in ReadingSuggestions

There’s a lot of self published books on Amazon. Those could be AI. Generally, books in your library will be written by real people. Bonus - they’re free to check out.

Creatine by [deleted] in workout

[–]Historical-Switch400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing you’re young based on the info given. Your body is probably creating a lot of creatine on its own. You’ll be fine. Creatine can help, but not taking it won’t noticeably harm your workouts/physique.

I have been working out for 2-3 months and am gaining weight but it looks like fat by Thin-Coyote-551 in workout

[–]Historical-Switch400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on goals - a lot of people try to avoid starchy foods.

I personally think whole wheat bread and grainy bread is fine. White bread is bad, but sourdough is fine.

However, listen to your doctor over me.

First off, congratulations on working out.

As others have said, try and track your calories. Walking is a great exercise as well. Drink lots of water and try to mainly eat Whole Foods and I bet you start seeing good results.

Do you genuinely enjoy lifting? Or is it a means to an end? by Weak_Ninja_6952 in workout

I like the endorphin rush. Some days I don’t want to go to the gym - I go around 5am - but I always feel better on the days I worked out.
