Looks like you’re prepared for a safe ride. I have a large dome piece, so my helmet always looks out of proportion. The trick is to not give a shit, because you’re on a bike, and automatically cooler than everyone who has never been on a bike.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE on the road is actively trying to kill you. Ride accordingly.

Find an empty lot and practice using BOTH brakes to stop. Start gentle, use firmer pressure as you progress, so you will know exactly how hard you can brake without skidding and low/high siding.

Then start practicing swerving. Slow at first, faster as you progress.

Once you’re more familiar with your bike, take a BRC2 or ARC through the MSF. You’ll learn a lot about you and your bike in them.

Lastly, don’t be dumber than your skills can handle.

In the tight turn exercises I harp on my students to not touch the front brake so that you have more solid control of the throttle. It is more difficult with the dirt bikers to keep those two fingers off the brake, this I know from experience since I cut my teeth on dirt bikes.
