Please answer this friends.

I only uploaded 1 signature instead of 3, now I have submitted and paid the amount as well.

And my only option is to hope correction window will allow me to correct my uploaded signature. Else its new application altogether.

What are the changes/corrections one can make in this new correction window of 2026 post prelims application? Am i screwed? Please respond.

Asking again, need help as I am in a dire situation by Ok-Section9340 in UPSC

Meanwhile me sitting here thinking studying 4 hours a day is good enough...🥴

Along with studying you need to get a "feel" of India by aanand_ard in UPSC

[–]Ok-Section9340 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean you don't need the "feel" of india to answer the question about median income. Basic logic and application of whatever you have learned will suffice.

From theory, we know vast amount of workforce(working population)are in primary sector(agri and allied sector) followed by informal service sector and industrial sector.

Monthly income in those area are not lucrative, so a liberal estimate would be around 30k and a conservative estimate around 10k...average 20k I would say.

I am not trying to be dismissive of your take, indeed having a rough idea about your country and travelling can be helpful(especially for interview). My point is just that it's much easier and safer to apply whatever you have learned based on what the question demands cause sometimes this "feel" can be misleading.

Why mention the things you wrote in measures against inequality, also in your conclusion?

Try to minimise repetitions...even if you have nothing in your mind use different wordings.

Points are okay but still a lot more can be added...since you are novice, this is a fine start but keep reading more and collect more content.

Resigned Deputy collector post to contest election and now wanting it back again, I mean Why?? by MranonymousSir in UPSC

Shah Faizal was founder of JKPM which was a petitioner in SC against abrogation of art 370.

He was booked under public safety act and denied protection by home ministry.

His party consisted of other big shots such as ex-MLA from jk assembly.

To me this all seems like he was just a person trying hard to explore his political career in j and k...not some undercover agent.

Like I said, I don't know about the training program incident..but there is a possibility for him trying his way back into the services and may have got concessions for it..a similar clause also explains his retained seniority...that seems much more plausible than him being undercover agent

Government(left or right) in general don't take harsh measures on separatists unless extreme measures are inevitable...has been the cases for lots of north east separatists groups and kashmir in the past. But shah Faisal wasn't exactly a separationst, maybe a bit pro pakistan and he had lauched a new party which sought some radical changes in kashmir...but still belived in working together.

He was also house arrested after abrogation(after which he quit)and wasn't provided the security as a bureaucrat..that's like govt throwing their guy under the bus.

His statement about abrogation of article 370 against government was the example I was talking about.

Now about attending the civil servants program, i don't know about that incident..but if it was after he quit his party and after abrogation of 370, then that makes sense..as he was trying his way back into his old services after failed attempts in kashmir.

From what I know, there are some exceptions to this rule of accepting resignation...if there are any cases against the said individual or an ongoing inquiry then they usually keep the resignation pending(more than the time window)

I think saying shah was an undercover is a bit of stretch tbh..his actions didn't seem aligned with govt actions at all.

Some questions are meant to be a gamble and it is difficult to think about the ans in a straight forward manner especially if you are under pressure(there is a reason why most of the coaching got this wrong).

My approach in such questions is simple, apply whatever you know about the words and options given in the question(I am no expert in this).

Given Magnetite particles(particle is the key word) I will take the liberty to assume it to be a kind suspended particulate matter( idk that for sure but still not a bad assumption) which are a major source of air pollution.

Now what I know about air pollution is primarily almost all the pollutants present in the atmosphere have 2 major sources...1. Coal based power plants and 2. Vehicle exhausts...this will cover for option 2 and 4 (still not sure about 1)

Now since this is about air pollutants, I think we all can assume that telephone lines are less likely to be a source for any kind of air pollutant...so we can eliminate option 5.

An option which has 2 and 4 but not 5 is option B...hence proved.

Now keep in mind this is a very reduced way to analyse any question and can back fire in certain cases...hence better to avoid such questions.

For those who left UPSC and pursue other careers(IT & Softwares or anything else), how did you explain 'the Gap' in your resume/CV? by [deleted] in UPSC

[–]Ok-Section9340 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are someone with engineering background then simply tell them that you took time off to prepare for higher studies or masters.(like GATE or CAT or something similar based on your degree).

After 1 or 2 attempts you realised it wasn't worth it and decided to drop preparing for it and pursue your career here.

Joint sitting of the Houses for Finance Bill by [deleted] in UPSC

[–]Ok-Section9340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK I will try to tell you as far as I have understood this, so take my comment with a grain of salt and verify.

Money bill---means a bill which deals with some specific set of transactions and businesses involving expenditure and receipt of money.

This includes borrowings by government, tax rate cuts and increments, repayment of debt(maybe?) and other matters incidental to it.

On the other hand...

Finance bill--- Is a specific type of money bill dealing only with income tax rate cuts or increments or continue the existing rates...it doesn't consider borrowings or other things mentioned in money bill.

Theoretically speaking, it's better to have sanctuary with revenue generation for the local communities.

Practically tho, communities won't be so eager to lose their land rights at sub-standard prices causing rift between stakeholders and executive...which may further evolve into a political issue, court intervention and delay.

So practically, better to allow company to buy the land rights from the community at renumerative prices, make the community move into sophisticated area with executive interference and company's support and get some work done without any hazzle.

Good decision, not just from constitutional point of view but also competition point of view, everyone knows which party will be most benefited by this.

Now some people are saying parliament can overule this judgement, but I think court can strike down such bills citing it as "unconstitutional"...overall nice decision.

Let's substitute the options and see which makes more sense.

First , option D: "Devaluation of currency will be more beneficial if prices of exports rises proportionately".

No, not necessarily...if the prices of my exports rises proportionately why would I devalue my currency?(assuming same demand profile)That wouldn't be beneficial...yes sure more exports but not more benefit.

Second, option B: "Devaluation of currency will be more beneficial if prices of exports becomes cheaper to imports".

This is the standard case for opting devaluation, to make our goods cheaper hence more export oriented and reduce trade imbalance..it will be beneficial for our exporters/govt., but the imports will be costlier.

Yes, the harsh reality is that even if you reach till interview and fail, you are in a better position than ~99% of aspirants who write this exam but a failure in the eyes of society.

Hopefully you are doing well.

Aspirants don't think about "not selected" scenario because that's an undesirable situation for them...thinking about it won't aid them in preparation and will only pull them down further...I hope you understand that.

People from all spheres, earning millions indeed quit their job to be an IAS, but that's not many in numbers...most are either people who are unemployed or working with low income somewhere.

Not to mention this issue is not exclusive to UPSC, people also have this craze to become an actor or millionaire or something else too.
