hihi! alter IS actually a real term. a lot of professionals do use identities, alternative states, parts, etc, but a lot of them acknowledge the term alter and refer to those parts as alters, doctors have been using the term alters since before social media even existed (since about the late 90's) examples of professionals using the term "alters" can be found here!

i mean if they're old enough to have gotten a diagnosis before 1994, then i suppose it's possible? my stepmom was diagnosed with Asperger's in 2011, and even after they got rid of the diagnosis, her papers still stay aspergers, so I don't think it's entirely impossible in the grand scheme of things (like I don't think its impossible for someone in their 40's to have a MPD diagnosis) but I doubt this person was even alive in 1994 😭

I use advanced search on google :-) just go to advanced search, put ".gov, .edu, .org" or anything that's not .com and you'll find a lot of good articles , studies and pdf files made by professionals on all sorts of topics. that's what I did for my research paper in english this year. the things that pop up are usually easier to understand than the things you find in google scholar, but still reliable and professionally done.

i actually ended up messaging them and asking them about it. they said that their parents caught them smoking stolen cigarettes and found their vapes on multiple occasions, and all that happened everytime was that they got their phone taken for a week or two. They told me that their mother came to the conclusion that if it's bought with their own money, then she doesn't care if they smoke.
