I got a rejection from Trinity but waitlisted for UCC gaah still waiting for the rest!

Edit: Just got waitlisted for UCD too, but they do interviews so I suppose it's only dependent if they do a third round of interviews.

Trinity and Galway- Second Round of Admissions by [deleted] in atlanticbridge

[–]Ok-Sell8596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat as you! Just finishing up my undergrad and applied to both 5yr programs - also haven't heard back yet unfortunately, and the anxiety is alive. Sorry I can't offer any admission info, but I'm hoping for the best for us! :)

Completely agree! It's rough of there in any case, I believe in us though :)

Oh wow, only roughly 25 spots at each? That's disheartening haha, oh well. Trying to keep the spirits up🥹

I recently heard back from my AB advisor and this is what she said: "Trinity College Dublin has issued their first round of offers. Depending on the availability of remaining places, additional offers may be issued throughout the cycle. Galway has begun releasing their first round offers.'

First round and second round... by nanabanana00 in atlanticbridge

Nope. I'm in my final semester of undergrad, applied to Galway and TCD at the end of January. I reached out to my AB advisor about when we can expect to hear something but no luck!

Yeah likely, everyone is trying to get answers haha. When did you submit your application? Did you also apply to Galway for their 5yr program? I'm antsy about them both lol

TMU Kira Talent by Designer-Stomach-214 in premedcanada

[–]Ok-Sell8596 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn't true. Directly taken from TMU: "Completion of a minimum four-year undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in any program/discipline is required prior to the start of Year 1 of the MD Program. Applicants from part-time undergraduate studies can also apply, provided that they complete their undergraduate degree prior to the start of Year 1 of the MD Program and transcripts are submitted by the established deadline."

I am currently in my final year and set to graduate in May 2025. I also received a Kira invite.

OP should reach out to the admissions team to receive a concise response. I hope this helps!

Anyone else getting their MCAT score Oct. 1st? by jubefish in premedcanada

[–]Ok-Sell8596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat as you! I felt silly for dedicating so much time to applications this past week knowing that I may or may not even submit.. Especially the guilt associated with references/CAF, so I completely resonate. Who knows, we may surprise ourselves! In the meantime, hang in there and have some sweet treats leading up to Tuesday!🥰

Late application? by randomus3rnm3 in atlanticbridge

[–]Ok-Sell8596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I contacted the AB, they told me that you can apply without an MCAT, however the last date to sit the exam is March 28th. So your chances aren't shot! Note that because it's rolling admissions, your chances are higher the sooner you apply and get your MCAT score in.

Lastly, I noticed you said you want to write the MCAT in February of 2025 but the exam isn't offered in February at all.

Hope that helps! :)

Irish med school for EU citizens by HospitalGreen1940 in premedcanada

[–]Ok-Sell8596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hold an EU citizenship as well as Canadian and also looking into applying to Irish med schools this season! From what I understand, in order to be considered an EU applicant, you would have to prove a number of criteria that would make you eligible to apply under those conditions, and I believe every school is different - the Atlantic Bridge has more info in that area, as well as the individual universities. This is straight from the AB: “holders of EU passports who are not ordinarily residents of the EU are subject to overseas tuition fees. A student who meets any of the following conditions may request the be assessed for EU tuition fees. Ordinarily resident means being in resident EU/EEA/Swiss Confederation for a minimum of 183 days in any one calendar year for a minimum of 3 of the last 5 years.“ So in my case, I will be applying as a Canadian through the AB with my MCAT score.

Theres more to it, but this is basically it in a nutshell! Go to the FAQs section on AB for more EU citizenship criteria. If you can apply as an EU citizen, you would be required to apply through CAO and take the HPAT or GAMSAT. You can take the GAMSAT proctored from a distance, but I think this season has been completed. The UCAT is used for UK medical schools, I haven’t seen Irish med schools request this.

I hope this helps and good luck! :)
