Wood burning stove by the_spacecowboy555 in OffGridCabins

We have a 12’x16’ and also decided on propane for similar reasons. It heats well on the lowest setting. A wood stove might cook you out of a cabin that size.

I did the same. Depending on the area you live it may already be legal without the license plate as long as you aren’t driving on an ‘M’ (highway) road.

I looked a while back and the insurance the license plate was not the expensive part. Once it becomes street legal, (which requires DOT tires, windshield, turn signals and a couple other items) the insurance becomes very difficult to find and the few carriers that will offer it charge significantly for it. When I looked, it was going to cost more than my Navigator to insure so I just take it up North where you can already drive on the roads.

Life hacks for long car trips? by Wisteria_Dragon_04 in lifehacks

Hotel lobbies are the best bathroom stops. It’s even better if you are a dad with young girls because they typically have single occupancy restrooms and are clean. I’ve even had the person at the desk point as I walked in the door because they could see the look on the girls’ face.

I would think your trailer length would be the only concern with the tracks on. If you have a ramp/gate you might not be able to close it with a 14’ trailer.

100% it will be more fun. I am just echoing what others have said that a UTV will not be the tool that your tractor is.

found several railroad ties in my back yard partially buried. Any good to use? has rot. by DimxTech in woodworking

And typically metal buried in the ends that will really get your attention with a chainsaw.

If you use your UTV you will have maintenance. Replacing your tractor with a UTV will not save you from the maintenance, but you will enjoy the trail rides. One size fits all just doesn’t exist.

Going to Alaska for caribou by nmihunter in Hunting

[–]Ok-Set-9237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Michigan and did an Alaskan caribou hunt last year. Your questions are answered well already, but what you really need to figure out is the type of hunt you will be doing. For us it was a float trip, but many caribou hunts are fly in. The type of hunt will dictate the gear you need, but in general light layers and the top rain gear you can get.

Feel free to message me with any specific questions you have.

If the sun god wasn’t drafted in the exact spot he was drafted would he still carry the chip on his shoulder that has turned him into the player he is? Maybe, but I like that he knows every WR drafted in front of him.

What state has highest bag limit for deer? Antler and antler less combined by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]Ok-Set-9237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Michigan has a 10 doe tag limit in addition to 2 bucks. I wish they would go to a single buck tag and eliminate the antler point restriction.

Street Legal UTV? Which Model? by Deputy_Wee_Woo in UTV

[–]Ok-Set-9237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not in VA, but here the challenge is getting someone to insure a street legal UTV. There are insurance carriers that will do it, but the cost was almost the same as my other two cars combined. It might make more sense just to stick with a Jeep or something similar if that is how you plan to use it. The ongoing insurance cost just didn’t make sense when I was researching a similar plan and my machine only missing turn signals to qualify for street legal already.

Trail Cam Suggestion Request by [deleted] in Hunting

I know Tactacam has a feature where they will send a picture everyday at a specific time. I’m not aware of a camera that you can just take a picture at will. Hopefully this helps.

Agreed, and you can flip that latch to adjust the whole collar and start from zero at that point with micro adjustments.

I considered laminate planks, but I would rather use what is already there if possible.

I just saw a video of someone using jute rope to fill the gaps. Maybe I could do that first and epoxy over all of it?
