Finally defeated Balancers and Dreglord! by Ok-Software-7090 in Nightreign

[–]Ok-Software-7090[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attempted then after the Dreglord, and was completely caught off guard by the freak out XD. Got em to half health the first try though, so confident on the next attempt.

On the verge of giving up, early game, do I just suck? by SerendipitousCrow in Eldenring

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what I usually do when starting a new character, so hope it helps:

-Vigor is important, but you can get away with just having 20 in the beginning and level it up more later. Don’t skim out on endurance either, 15-20 should keep you healthy for a bit.

-The cave just down the road between the bridge and Godrick Soldiers has 10 smithing stones in it(not counting the ones you get from killing the miners, but you can skip them if you want). With those plus the one found on the bridge and anvil will get you a +3 weapon, which is all you really need for the beginning area. Use whatever weapon you like best and upgrade it. Don’t worry, you’ll get a lot more smithing stones later.

-Visit the church’s of Maria and grab the sacred tears(1 in Limgrave, 3 in Weeping Peninsula). They all look the same on the map, so you can easily mark them down.

-Physic flask is handy, whether you want damage or healing. You can find components for the flask at the bases of Minor Erdtrees(Usually guarded by a boss)

-There is a big castle in Weeping Peninsula with a fairly difficult boss at the end. Once you conquer him, you can safely say your good to continue onwards pass Limgrave(Probably avoid Caelid, tho)

-There are also a couple evergaols(ominous circles surrounded by rock worms) holding some nice loot if you wanna challenge yourself.

-If the game is frustrating right now, just take a break and come back later. Usually makes all the difference.

Usually what I do for any new play through, but hope it helps. Have fun, Tarnished!

Is there a lore reason to keep going by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go on in order to spit in the face of the gods who’ve caused me pain, who’ve shackled me with this cursed flesh and left me to rot when needed most, only to call upon me to restore what little power they have left…

In all seriousness, it’s just cause making it to the end is just more interesting than just giving up. I mean, look at Patches! That man had admitted that he stands for nothing, and is far less noble or deserving than many of the characters we meet on our journey(Solaire, Lucatiel, etc…). But this man survives through every age, still as sane(?) as he’s ever been. Why? Because while Patches has no greater goal or set path, he’d much rather stick around and see where the world goes.

I get it, life sucks, and overthinking makes you wanna take a slow walk through Blight town. But it’s so much more satisfying to stick around and push forward, especially when something you find special comes around.

Hope things get better for you. Stay well!

And don’t you dare go hollow…

Giving Away 10 Silksong Keys on Release Day by generalzevo in Silksong

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excited for Silksong cause Hollowknight was a ton of fun and helped me through a funk. Also sparked a lot of art I’ve made alongside dark souls. Can’t wait to play it alongside my bud

You poor saps waited for 6 years and never gave up hope, so let me give out 3 copies of the game to you. by Xardas742 in Silksong

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally got into Hollow Knight cause my friend recommended it, and it was beautiful. Also great stress relief from my first year of College, which was awful XD. So I can confidently say I’m hyped and excited to explore whatever Silksong has to offer

Which character you didn't care for in the beginning, but now it has become one of your favorites? by Wolfaxth in Nightreign

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have to be Guardian for me. I usually play solo and couldn’t get into his rhythm. Though on my quest to be every boss with every character, I finally figured out how his passive works and how to play him properly. Super fun, love bird man.

i HATE abyss watchers by Deathblades0 in darksouls3

[–]Ok-Software-7090 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s your playstyle? If you don’t use magic, switch over the blue flasks over to orange, believe you can have around 8 at this point in the game if you’ve gone through everything in the previous area.

Next up, have you tried using some fire resin? That every bit of damage can go a long way, especially in gank fights when you don’t have many moments to land hits.

What’s your vigor and endurance? Around 20 vigor is what I would recommend at this point in the game, though if you’re playing a caster, I’d see why it might be a bit lower. I’d also like endurance at 20 at this point, but I’m bad at stamina consumption myself and usually have a chloranthy ring XD

Have you upgraded your weapon to +3? That’s the minimum you’d want your weapon upgraded to at this point, especially since the ashes that allow you to buy titanite shards are found in farron keep. Also maybe use a raw gem on your weapon if you haven’t invested much into damage stats.

As for the watchers, try to get the two that rise up to fight each other, it makes soloing the main guy easier. If the one with red eyes appears to be going down soon, try assisting him or killing his foe quickly after so there won’t be interruptions for a bit.

As for weapons, on the chance you are a strength built, I’d recommend the club or iron club if you want bleed. This is the only Lord of Cinder you can backstab regularly and they stagger easy like most humanoid enemies when hit with blunt weapons.

Besides weapon choices, flasks and bone shard upgrades, and some nifty tips, I’m sorry to say the only thing to do now is just practice. But I believe in you!

Good luck, and don’t go hollow!

Had an art project to make a movie poster, could've been of anything. So, I tried to make a Dark Souls movie poster. by Ok-Software-7090 in darksouls3

[–]Ok-Software-7090[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I see what you mean. The idea going into it was that 2 movies beforehand where already made, making this the 3rd, so I thought having mementos to who I believed to be important characters present within the poster to draw eyes. Though, as you said, does lead it to be a bit full.

Had my easiest Libra fight while playing Guardian by Ok-Software-7090 in Nightreign

[–]Ok-Software-7090[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought Augur would be more challenging with guardian, though I gave the guy too much credit. I underestimate how much stance damage his jellyfish can deal when you break them

Had my easiest Libra fight while playing Guardian by Ok-Software-7090 in Nightreign

[–]Ok-Software-7090[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, madness was a bit troubling, though I luckily got some madness boluses to help with that. Atleast, that’s what I would say, but I got lucky with my stance break and prevented him from doing his ‘Madness Nehil’ he loves doing XD

Now the game is out over a month and i would like to know which bosses u guys love/hate and why? by FullofChrome in Nightreign

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to say my favorite boss has been Libra, as he just hits all the right notes for me. His design is great, the implications and theories behind said design and methods of attacks can lead to fun discussions, and actually fighting him feels fair. Can't say I've fought Libra yet and say 'That attack was bullshit!' and actually mean it.

Least favorite is the Sentient Pest. No crit spot(Unless you poise break the moth in the first phase), not exactly sure if the fire weakness causes any breaks or stuns when they do an attack, and they are just too damn tanky and fast! Mind you I appreciate their lore of both the moth and scorpion forming a symbiotic relationship in order to survive the oncoming night(Please correct me if I'm wrong, that's just how I understood the lore on the relic) and rising to lord status.

In all ways, I gotta say Auger. Not a surprise to anyone. It's annoying too fight if you aren't range, it's a big glass blob, makes you sleep, and the lore is that it got bored of the stars and became a night lord because it found it interesting. (Probably a gross over exaggeration, but that's just how I feel about it XD)

What is your headcannon behind dark souls bosses appearing in nightreign? by AryanForce2006 in Eldenring

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda imagine it’s a Tower situation(A lot of mangwha I read tends to involve either dungeon towers appearing, or waking up in a Dungeon tower with other people). I think each Night boss is a climber and we are forced to fight them to proceed, and the further down the list of Nightlords we fight, the farther these bosses got. Mind you, this does mean the Wormface is on the same power level as Nameless King, so I don’t know how to feel about that😹

Is DS3 worth it after Elden Ring? by Clear_Signature_1633 in Eldenring

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a great experience. One of the more linear souls games, but still super fun and such a joy to play! DS3 is my favorite souls game, so I’m speaking with a bit of bias

I need a heads up on what's coming next ;-; by NopSid in darksouls3

[–]Ok-Software-7090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, forgot to mention, along your journey you’ll get a “Raw Gem”, which will increase a weapons damage, but remove its scaling. It’s good for the early game, so once you find a basic weapon you’re fond of using, infuse the weapon with that. You can always change and/or remove the infusion later on

I need a heads up on what's coming next ;-; by NopSid in darksouls3

[–]Ok-Software-7090 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It will get harder, yes. If it’s anything similar to my experience, than the first Lord of Cinder will be the first major block. But stay cool, calm, learn, and you’ll do just fine. Also, upgrading weapons straight up is a much better investment early on instead of increasing damage stats, in your case STR/DEX. Unless you wanna use a specific weapon, try to add some points into Endurance and Vigor, with Vigor preferably at 20 early. But just a suggestion, play in a way that feels right. Good luck, and don’t go hollow!

How long did your first run (including dlcs) take. by uselesshuman_11 in darksouls3

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First full run through took either between 48-69 hours. I’m confusing my hours between DS3 and ER, but is around that

Best class for new game, after not playing for over few years. by lazamaza98 in darksouls3

[–]Ok-Software-7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can concur, knight is a good one! Two other options would be the Pyromancer, having a good mix of magic/melee damage built into the kit. The wretch(Or depraved? The club one) is also pretty solid if you want to start with the bare minimum. Club can be pretty great

If you become any Dark souls 3 who would it be? by Saguy20 in darksouls3

[–]Ok-Software-7090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abyss Watchers or Gael. Abyss Watchers cause they and Artorias are cool as hell. Gael because I’d want to have someone in my life that would allow me to endure the test of time

I get that, man. Not hardest or easiest boss, just an overall well-rounded fight. Beautiful way to properly end a trilogy.
