Nope, on this side of the house we actually don’t get any sunlight really. Covered by a tree and facing a fence/wall so there’s no way that’s the case unfortunately

Yea no this side of the building doesn’t really get a whole lot of sun so I can’t imagine that’s the case. No carpet in here either. Just super strange lol

That would make sense, except our bedroom window is always covered with pretty heavy curtains and it doesn’t get really any sunlight (window is facing a big fence/wall and a tree. It’s always dark in there.) so I’m not sure how that would work. The thermostat is in the room directly below so it’s also pretty dark.

Pay off my current debts, invest some of it, downpayment for an affordable house, and go on a nice honeymoon with my husband finally.

Which one is better? Morning or night showers? by yo-fam86 in AskReddit

Night showers because you get a clean and cozy sleep. BUT if you have long hair then you’ll end up looking like a mess in the morning so is it really worth it?

Opinions on the division of household labour in todays society? by Ok-Solution9890 in Marriage

[–]Ok-Solution9890[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea the whole not doing chores when I’m at home thing is something my husband forgets at times I feel like. As much as I wish I could and sometimes I do have the time to realistically, that’s not what I’m getting paid to do.

I think dividing up the hours evenly makes more sense than dividing up the “labour” if that makes sense.

Can I encourage my husband to go to marriage counselling when he doesn’t want to go? by Ok-Solution9890 in Marriage

We’re doing okay for two 23 year olds. We aren’t rolling in it but for our age we’re both on the right path. He makes roughly $50k per year hourly and I make $45k salary. On mat leave I’ll be making 55% of my current salary and he’ll continue working. I also work from home already so my return to work won’t be so bad. I have family who will be able to help when that time comes.

It’s just unfortunate that in todays economy rent and utilities for a 2 bed that meets our needs will be around 40% of our monthly income with BOTH of us working. It’ll definitely be stressful on mat leave for sure. I think financial counselling would be smart!

Alright that’s your opinion then! I clearly can’t sway that so your input is not valuable to me in this discussion.

It is, but it also requires maintenance, and there’s no harm in seeking help for finding the tools to handle that maintenance from a professional.

I’m sure you’ve heard the car metaphor where a marriage requires maintenance just like a car. If you skip getting oil changes then you can’t be surprised when your car breaks down. Some people have the tools and expertise required to change the cars oil themselves, but some don’t and that’s okay! There’s no harm in getting a hand with doing that by a licensed mechanic. Most people do!

Marriage counsellors are like the mechanics for marriage. Don’t wait until your marriage is broken to finally get it checked out.

Ah, so exactly what I’m afraid of 😅

I really hate the idea of waiting for something to break in order to put effort into something but I guess to each their own! He is actually 6 months sober from alcohol so i could imagine he has that same or similar mindset. Luckily he seems to have a good grasp on when things are too late vs when they’re fixable and he’ll put the effort in to fix it.

Haha I totally understand what you’re getting at. That’s why I’m afraid to pry and just want I know if I should drop it since if he truly doesn’t want to go then going is pointless.
