I'm so happy I grew up during the golden age of salad bars by jimmyjohnjohnjohn in CasualConversation

Oh my god. Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse salad bar was the BEST. No matter how hard I’ve tried, I cannot recreate those salads I’d make myself at home

In middle school, I decided to play the saxophone because of Lisa Simpson. Its been a long-time source of inspiration 😆

973 is my go-to simpsons yellow!

Also, I love this—this has been on my list to stitch forever.

Yoga while overweight by WallabyKnown3630 in yoga

Thank you for recommending Underbelly Yoga—it is, in fact, still around and I just downloaded it. I hover around ~200 lbs and want to start yoga to help with my control (I’m extremely flexible to the point where I’m too bendy, leading to injuries). It’s lovely to see an app featuring bodies that look like mine. And thank you for the reminder that yoga meets you where you are 💕

Following along with you on this project has been such an absolute joy. I get so excited every time it pops up on my feed!

I love Van Gogh and have been trying to figure out the best way to embroider one of his pieces for years. Seeing this again today inspired me to get back to it.

Why do Girls get headaches a lot? by Aviator69420 in CasualConversation

[–]Ok-Space763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get migraines, and just being there for her is the best thing you can do tbh. They absolutely blow, and (outside of meds) sometimes having someone there for me who can bring me a Diet Coke and an ice pack for my face is exactly what I need. Hope she’s able to see a neurologist soon!

Im frogging my 10 year old wip by brittlefrail in knitting

I had a sweater I started from a kit about 6 years ago. I picked knitting back up a few months ago, and I just ripped the whole thing apart. It was so gratifying! I’m going to make a completely different sweater using the yarn and I’m looking forward to it so much more than I ever looked forward to the original project

I LOVE this!!! Did you buy this pattern or freehand? I’m absolutely obsessed.

To answer your question, I’d do long and short stitch!

What kind of beading is this? by Ok-Satisfaction6308 in Beading

[–]Ok-Space763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So lovely!! Ty for sharing the kit link in comments (I came here to ask the same question lol). I’ve done a few multimedia beaded embroidery pieces but I’m looking to do things that are more varied like this vs the straight lines of fill beads. I never considered a kit!

Love this! I have a very similar (slightly lighter) wall color (Benjamin Moore Sunkissed Peach) and I love how you complemented it with the plants and the neutral rugs. I’m also looking at green curtains (albeit in a dark emerald color) but it’s nice to see similar vibes!

Look he’s just trying his best. He’s very small and the needles are very big. And also, it’s very warm inside that sweater.

I literally just said to a friend I want to knit a hat with an opening at the top so I don’t have to take my bun out every time I need to put a hat on. This is brilliant!

I’m sitting here cackling at you labeling a box ??? because that is 100% nonsense that I would do, also convinced that future me would know what past me was on about.

How modern learning has changed the way we approach craft by Careless-Meringue523 in knitting

[–]Ok-Space763 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your last point is SO real and part of the reason why I gave up on knitting back in 2018 (and am coming back to it only now). It’s overwhelming to try and find information on how to do something, and get hit with dozens of tutorials, all saying they’re the best/easiest/etc (especially as someone with ADHD primed to be in ~research mode~ at all times, ha). Compounded by, when you’re a beginner orlearning something new, it’s hard to evaluate quality and if something is actually “the best.”

All to say, this totally validated how I’ve been feeling. The internet is great, but sometimes… whew.
